Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. I gave it 5 stars because it did what it was meant to do. This part is easy to install and if you are D I Y'rs like us you'll be happy that your pool vac is quite quickly back to working condition again (that is if this is the only thing that needs replacing)! This pressure valve is a small piece that attaches to the hose but it's very crucial to the Polaris' function to efficiently propel the unit around the pool bottom.

New life for old pool sweep Got this. I replaced the old cracked one. Now our pool sweep is happy and working again! Sure beats buying a new polaris!
Fixed Polaris 280 Replaced old device with new device and Polaris 280 works great again. Old device gears were worn out. It was over 10 years old.
This is an OEM part at a lower cost than elsewhere. I gave this product 5 stars because you must have it for your Polaris to work properly and this one is an OEM part at just a little over half what my local pool store charges.
I did it myself. There really isn't much to say. I purchased it to save money. I fixed the polaris myself, and I'm not mechanically inclined. The pool company wanted to charge me $120.00 for the part plus labor and a trip charge. Yes I saved a lot and it works.
