Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. Was Happy To Find This! Our Polaris pool cleaner needed new parts. This was only part of our order, but we were thrilled to be able to buy everything online and save both money and time. It worked perfectly and we were thrilled with the timely delivery as well.
Fixed the cleaner! My cleaner had not been working well; it turned out that the old reversing valve did not shut off totally when it was not reversing, so some of the water that would have been sent to the Polaris never got there. Replacing this fixed it, and a followup replacement of the feed hose made my 10+ year old Polaris work like new again. I'm a happy camper, and it was this valve that got everything good again.

Exact replacement. These things have a lot of moving parts and do wear out over time. This is the exact Zodiac replacement part and as usual is working just fine. They seem to last for three or four years. Good purchase price when compared to my local pool supply companies.
