Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. Expensive but much cheaper than at store After 10 or so years my back up valve casing broke. I went to Leslie's and bought a new one for $90 because I wanted to replace it before leaving on vacation. However, after getting home I thought I should wait and check online. I found this, the exact same product, for $50 with free shipping. Way less $ than the pool store I got this at half the price that they wanted at the pool store. These tend to crack or wear out after awhile....this was a great deal compared to the $90 they wanted at the local pool supply stores.
