Polaris booster pumps don't last more than a couple of years for me Easy to hook up, but don't last very long. I seem to be replacing Polaris booster pumps every 2 years - running about 3-4 hours a day. It's getting very tiresome and expensive, so I'm looking for a different brand now.
Pump is fine.....the company that makes it not so much. I write this review after my experience with Zodiac customer service. They do not bother having any kind of notification that this REPLACEMENT pump has to be installed by a licensed electrician or pool installer or it VOIDS the WARRANTY when the cheap %T(*#^T terminal bolts snap off while hand tightening the nut. Apparently 3 wires are too much for the commoner to wire the 120V exactly the same as the one you are replacing. So their warranty policy is garbage....what if... read more
Very noisy pump! I purchased this pump and am extremely dissappointed. As many others have noted there seems to be a major problem with quality control at Polaris This pump was very noisy out of the box. It is 10- times louder than my hayward super pump. I should have returned it immediately but needed to power the polaris 280. It is clear that this pump shipped with bad motor bearings. The company should use higher quality parts and run better qc. I will not buy this brand again!

Whisper quiet and sweeper runs like never before Installed new Polaris pump. What a difference! Whisper quiet and sweeper runs like never before.
Zodiac workmanship poor at best. Poor quality workmanship on the electrical board caused a terminal come loose from the board. This caused intermittent connection issue. Had to replace the terminal with better quality parts and rewire the unit to get it working again. I expect more life out of this type of pump than just 1.5 yrs. Good thing I am handy DIY kind of guy otherwise I would have had to purchase a brand new pump.
Doesn't last too long... I purchased this this item on September 1, 2013 and last week it quit. I had it professionally installed and when it broke I even had a new capacitator fitted but it still wouldn't start up. My original pump lasted over 10 years and this replacement didn't last but 2 1/2 years ergo I'm giving it 2 stars only.
no stars DIRECT replacement works perfect. 08/14/2016 Pump seal failed. Warranty is parts only. A $.50 seal is all they provide only after having you jump through several hoops proving what contractor or pool installer installed the pump. This companies warranty is crap. I will certainly look at other options. Certainly will not buy anything further from Zodiac or Polaris, no warranty.
A great pump if it would last more than a year! We give up! We cant get this booster Pump to last more than a year! The polaris pool cleaner itself is amazing and I would recommend the cleaner 5/5 stars and higher if possible! The cleaner is now nearly 10 years old, it came with the house we bought in 2008 and they had bought it a few years prior. Still running strong if we could get a pump to last. Not very durable Pump lasted less than 18 months. Compared to the last one that lasted 15 years not a good buy.
