Very Dissapointed! I had a professional pool service install this pump and he said the shaft does not turn freely. It seems to be in a bind. I am returning the pump for a refund. Very disappointed as this was going to save me about $150.
Works, but not impressed. Just installed this pump and my comments are: 1. The motor was factory wired for 230v; however wiring diagrams for both 110v and 230v are clearly indicated on the motor casing which made the reconfiguration to 110v easy. 2. The so called quick connect/disconnects are anything but "Quick". After repeated tries, I had to ditch those quick connect/disconnects and plumbed it with PVC pipe and fittings. It is a great idea; however, Polaris should come up with a better design. Do not waste time with those... read more
Good booster pump with fair price Bought on Monday, received on Wednesday (which was yesterday), and installed the last night. Amazon Prime is very handy when you really need sth to be delivered quickly, as in my case. My old booster pump finally gave up after who-knows-how-many years of service (we bought the house not too long ago). I tried to replace the seals on the old pump and it did stop the water leakage but the pump's bearing may have been worn out because of the grease washed away but the leaking water, together wi... read more
Lasted 15 Months I purchased this PB4-60 to replace the same that was 13 years old. After I installed it I was a little concerned because it just didn't quite sound right. It worked ok but had a slightly different sound to it. Anyway, I should have known better because it went out at 15 months. Motor hums, shaft turns so I replaced capacitor with no luck. May have saved some money by buying online but that was only in the short term.
Sometimes it is better to do yourself We have had our pool contractor replace this pump for years, many times. This time we chose to handle ourselves. It took a few hours but the pump works so much better..
This unit was bad I ordered this just before going on deployment. It arrived just a day before I flew out to Afghanistan. Weeks later I heard from the pool guy I have been using for years (and whom I trust completely) that he tried to install it but it did not work. I will try to send it back for a refund when I return from my tour.
Lasted only 14 months Ordered April 2012, worked great until June 2013. Motor just hums now, removed pump and it is not seized, bad motor.. Warranty only good for 12 months.
Piece of Junk I purchased this booster pump from Pool Goods for over $180, and it died 6.5 months later. An identical item that I had before lasted almost 10 years. I'm trying to get a refund from the seller, Pool Goods, but I know how that's going to go. I feel totally taken and will never buy another high dollar item online.
The pump is great, the warranty is awful I bought this pump to replace a worn out booster pump. The seller delivered exactly as specified and on time. After I installed it, it wouldn't work. I'm no dummy, not a stranger to plumbing and/or wiring so I knew I had done the installation correctly. Called Zodiac technical support. The first "technician" was about to put me through to another higher level tech to walk me through pulling the pump down. Ran out of time. Called the next day. Second "technician" said that the warranty... read more
