Pump started getting really loud after 4 months Very poor quality. I consider this a lesson learned and will buy locally next time. Pool guy says the motor needs to be replaced. Do not buy this motor, spread the word so others don't waste their money.
Zodiac PB4-60 Polaris Booster Pump Had the pump installed and so far it's good! Since my pool system had the hard PVC pipe connections, we did not use the enclosed soft rubber hose. Have no complaints whatsoever. Time will tell. The pump installed when my pool was built in 2011 only lasted less than 3 full years. I have hopes that this one will last much, much longer!!
Motor Motor does not run quiet. Grinding. Sounds like it's going out. Get what you pay for. Buy the better one.
Don't buy it for the easy connection Great pump so far, the the "easy connections" are a joke. You will need to buy some hose clamps to ensure that the connections stay in place.
Better to buy this than the quieter Halcyon version. I had a 3 year old booster pump that was the quieter, more expensive model (the Halcyon model). I liked the idea of quieter and could afford the extra premium. This pump developed a crack in the plastic plate, and since the pump was relatively new and in good condition, I went to find a replacement plate. Turns out that on this Halcyon model, you cannot just replace that part: you have to buy an entire new pump. Bad luck maybe, until you do some research and see that it is... read more
To much noise!!!!!! I've been working on and installing pools for over 20 years, and have installed hundreds of Polaris pool cleaners. In the last two years, I have purchased, for my customers, this Zodiac motor, to replace the original Polaris motor. Apparently Zodiac has purchased the Polaris name. This motor makes 75% more noise than the original Polaris motor!!!! I have one, that is one year old, in a electric motor repair shop, for a replacement bearing, to try and make this thing run quiet, like it should. Either they ... read more
2nd pump in 2 years, both out of warranty...Very poor customer service. This is the Second Polaris pump I've had to replace in 2-years; both of which have failed. The first pump was 2-years old and out of warranty... Purchased a new pump in September 2012 after the season, not realizing 12-month warranty from date of purchase (my mistake there). The pump was installed in May 2013, only ran it a few times during the season and was uninstalled in September 2013 where it was stored for the winter. In April 2014, when we opened ... read more
replaced old pump perfectly. Arrived in 1 day with prime! This pump is easy to install (watched a youtube video) [...] The only thing is the softube quick connects that come with this pump do not slide over the flange barb enough to put retainer clip on. Don't kill yourself trying to put them on. The hose fits snugly and securely enough and will not come loose.

Must be installed by professional. No parts sold to individuals. THEREFORE...you have no warranty in spite of anything said on this site.
