Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union is a great credit union since it is member owned and their focus is on their members. They have low fees which is a great benefit as a young state employee trying to build a stable financial foundation. Another advantage of Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union is that it is a very large bank and can offer a variety of different products and tools that smaller credit unions cannot. The online banking tools are smooth, fast, and easy to use. The several different online banking fu... read more
PSECU is a fantastic credit union for a few reasons. First is that they will reimburse you up to $20 a month if you use ATMs not on their network and have to pay a fee. The other reason is once when I deposited money, the check got stuck. I called them and even though they didn't have the money yet (it was in another credit union's ATM), they deposited that amount for me anyway. I thought that was fantastic.
I have a checking account, savings account and car loan with PSECU. Their online banking and mobile app are reliable and easy to use. I wasn't sure at first how it would be banking with them, not having a close branch to go to, but the site and app make that a non-issue. Additionally, I feel like I actually have someone watching out for me with my accounts, not trying to hit me with fees at every turn. Overdraft protection was easy to set up, direct deposit is fast and accurate, I see an updated FICO score monthly in my acco... read more
My experience as a PSECU customer has been excellent. At first I was somewhat skeptical of the fact that the closest branch was in Harrisburg, roughly 200 miles away. But the online banking is very easy to use and has all of the features I need to manage my daily finances. I especially like the app. It allows me to freely move money between my accounts, and the mobile deposit feature is extremely convenient. I would definitely recommend PSECU to anyone who is considering opening an account.
I found PSECU a few years back in a roundabout way. At first I was a little skeptical of starting to bank with them because of their nontraditional way of banking. They are completely branch-less and to perform any transactions with them it’s done over the phone or online service. Once I got the hang of it, I actually prefer this method of banking. One of my favorite things about PSECU is they system they've est. for using ATMs. They do not charge you fees, and if that bank that owns the ATM does they refund a $ amount based... read more
I am so happy that I decided to join PSECU over three years ago. I not only have a Regular account, but I also have two Moneyshare accounts, one of which I used to plan and save my entire wedding! ☺They were also able to get me a phenomenal rate on a consolidation credit card, and help me reduce my car payment by $50 a month by switching to one of their loans. Additionally, their service is excellent, and the mobile deposit options and ease of use cannot be beat.
I joined PSECU in August of 2013 when I became eligible because I was a student worker at the library of my college. I was thrilled because the savings account has no fees. I was able to open the account with very little money and there are no fees like I have had with bank accounts in the past. The only downfall with this institution is the location. I live in Lancaster and their home office is in Harrisburg. They do have a branch located at Millersville University which has odd hours, but again this is not convenient. They... read more
I've been a customer of PSECU for about 6 years now after switching over from a traditional bank.

I was referred by a friend who swore up and down that PSECU was great so I figured why not? I tried it and haven't looked back since. Here's my lists of pros and cons:

Pro: Mobile deposit, this was one of the huge draws that brought me to PSECU, I can deposit a check any time and anywhere with my phone. It's great and I've never had any problems with it (except for one time when my wife signed a check ... read more
I have had an account with PSECU for more than five years now. I opened it with my daughter in college as a quick way to get money to her. PSECU had absolutely the best features for what we needed at the time My daughter is out of college now and PSECU gave us the best rates on a car loan so we could get her on her feet now that she is working. I have dropped off my daughter’s account and I no longer need to maintain my account for its original purpose, but I love the service I get from PSECU. I thought I would hate using an... read more
