My relationship with Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union has been primarily positive. All my interactions with them over the telephone have been successful, and their handling of issues such as lost cards is effective and far from difficult. However, my experiences with their local on-campus branches have been less than positive. The majority of their hires are college students and unfortunately many of them just aren't up to par when it comes to helping the customer. These experiences may only be at a local branch, ho... read more
PSECU has been my primary bank for more than 10 years. During that time, I’ve temporarily used local banks and banks with promotional offers, but always go back to PSECU for more than 90% of my banking business, as they are easy to work with, and provide the kind of customer service that only a credit union can offer. Your deposits are “shares” in the credit union, and everything from hassle free banking (including ATM fee reimbursement), competitive rates, and annual dividends reflect that you own a part of the credit union... read more
I've had this account for several years now. It amazes me that they were one of the first banks to allow deposits with your phone as they are not that large of a chain. I no longer live in Pennsylvania and do not have access to a bank so this is extremely helpful. I also appreciate that i can withdraw funds or deposit checks at any 711 in the united states without any fees. Lastly, I appreciate that they allow up to $20 per month in ATM fee refunds from all ATMs as long as you have direct deposit with them otherwise it is on... read more
I have had an account with PSECU for several years. I opened my first PSECU checking account in college when they made them available to students in the states’ university system. I also have a joint account with my husband that we opened after getting engaged. They offer very convenient services for someone like me who has difficulty getting to the bank, such as online loan applications and the ability to deposit checks on my mobile phone. They also offer many services that other banks do not such as free checking with inte... read more
I've been part of PSECU for the past 12 years, and it has been a great experience. I actually joined through my wife, who had become a member while working for the state. Before PSECU I had accounts at other large national chains, the last being National City, but I had never been with a credit union.

There are certain things about PSECU that keep us with them. Refunding ATM fees, free FICO scores, and deposit from anywhere are a few great features, but one experience in particular helped lock me in as a loyal ... read more
I applied for PSECU when I attended Shippensburg University. After having some troubles with previous banks, PSECU walked me through a simple application process. I went into their office on campus and after half an hour I walked out with a checking account. I had a probationary period because of my trouble with a previous bank, which I appreciated. As a college student, I wanted the chance to prove I could manage a bank account on my own, and I was grateful they were willing to give me a second chance. They had abundant ATM... read more
My experiences with the Pennsylvania State Employee Credit Union have always been pleasant. I got an account with them when I was in college because of their convenient location and “college friendly” terms and conditions. They didn't require a minimum balance, overdraft protection, lots of ATMs, free checks, and some financial planning assistance/tracking that would help me out. I didn't think they'd really compare to the “big guys,” but I can say I was happy to be wrong. They've always been very nice and knowledgeable and ... read more
I joined PSECU about a year ago as a relative of a state employee. I signed up online and the process of opening and funding the account was very easy. I did have some difficulty logging into the website because I had forgotten the PIN I had used online to establish the account. Upon calling the credit union, they were happy to resolve the issue for me and sent the PIN number to me via US Mail. The credit union employees are very friendly to speak with. They treat me with respect, which is unlike many of the bigger banks out... read more
I opened a Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union checking account because they have a branch at the campus where my son attends college. My son also has an account there. This arrangement makes it really easy to transfer funds to his account. In addition, he has arranged direct deposit into his account when he receives disbursements from his student loan. The people at Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union are very knowledgeable and helpful. My son and I have been very pleased by the competent customer service. The t... read more
