I have been a member of PSECU for 8 or 9 years now and have never been a huge fan. When I first joined college I joined this credit union out of convenience because they had an office on my campus, so in case anything ever happened I could just go there. My boyfriend and I have been members of PSECU for a little over a year now, and we could not be more pleased. We have both a savings and a checking account. Of course, we might be more pleased if the interest rate was higher, but there aren't any banks anymore with high interest rates, so we are not phased. Although the main branch is in Harrisburg near HACC and is roughly an hour away from my house, they are great to bank with. I can deposit a check online (camera not required), or at a local credit union ATM and have my money available immediately. However, I have to mail the endorsed check to them if I deposit online, but they will send you pre-addressed envelopes for deposits.<br /> <br /> I never ran into any unexpected fees with them. A complete disaster of narrow-minded parrots.<br />They're rude and incompetent, transferring you around for something anyone should know how to do.<br />The bottom line is never to do business with this place.
I strongly advise against doing business with this institution. My recent experience attempting to open a checking account was marked by a clear lack of professionalism and poor internal processes.<br />All required identity verification documents were submitted online in full and on time. PSECU is a complete disappointment as a credit union. They are not supportive of their members. After more than 10 years with them, holding both the Classic and Founder credit cards and maintaining an excellent payment history, I faced financial difficulties in 2025 and struggled to keep up with the payments. I called them multiple times to arrange a solution, but they were unwilling to assist. Hi, I'm really disappointed by the treatment I received from PSCEU regarding my signature loan. They applied $100 interest on my loan knowing I'm disabled.
An absolute disaster of an organization. I have been with them for 30 years. It has become bureaucratically unwieldy. Choose PSECU if you want your debit cards and credit cards to be blocked every time you leave the state or the country, if you like being placed on hold for long periods of time, or if you like listening to an incredibly redundant voicemail that takes forever for you to be able to talk to a person, or if you don't expect the customer service representatives to return your messages. PSE Credit Union is not a reputable business. They inaccurately applied my mortgage payoff from a title company to my auto loan, which caused a series of issues, including a lien on my mortgage. Do not work with this company by any means for any large purchases or loans.
