I would say my experience with PSECU is so-so. I like that I'm not paying anything for checking, and that the (over-the-phone) customer service is generally helpful. However the lack of a physical bank location (at least around area I live in) sometimes drives me up the wall. For example, if an ATM ever eats your card, I hope you have money stashed under your bed! Also, depositing money can be a pain. I really enjoy having PSECU. They have always been friendly and helpful every time I come in. All the tellers always have a smile on their face and are willing to help you out with whatever you need. It was easy to sign up for my account and they don't hassle me with extra fees and charges like most banks nowadays that have all these hidden fees they don't tell you about when you join. This is the best financial institution I have even used, and I have used quite a few of them before I found out about PSECU.
Working for the state of Pennsylvania has afforded me the incredible benefit of being eligible to get my mortgage through the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union. I've had a PSECU account since I was 12 through my parents, and they have always been extremely helpful. They've erased overdrawn account fees that were my fault. I love how they reimburse my ATM charges, especially since they don't really have ATMs around the area. I can input checks online and the funds go right into my account, even if they don't get the check in the mail for days. They even have an app for doing that! I have been with PSECU for 7 years now, and have never regretted it for a single day! I have a savings and checking account with them, and from time to time have taken out various loans. I joined PSECU through my roommate. He added me to his bank account to make it easier to pay the household bills. I love the refunds on ATM fees. The online banking is wonderful! I love being able to see a list of pending transactions. It would be nice if bills paid using the online bill-payer didn't take so long to clear. I have had PSECU for over 10 years. The customer service of their car loan section is fantastic. I was easily able to be approved and drop money from my checking account right into the car loan account. PLUS, they have a two week grace period after the due date to get the payment to them. My experience with PSECU has been nothing but the best. I have had fraudulent charges show up on my account twice in the past and PSECU was on the phone with me within minutes of the charges being processed. Their customer service is also very friendly and reliable anytime that I call in with questions or concerns. Dealing with PSECU is always a breeze. I've financed 4 vehicles through PSECU's auto loans. The application process is simple. The interest rates are very fair. The cashier's check arrives a few days after approval for the amount you think you may need. This is very helpful in negotiating with sales having a check in hand.
