I've had an account with PSECU ever since I attended college at Bloomsburg University of Pa. Their customer service representatives are friendly and very helpful. One time I forgot my account number and they were very helpful with helping me to obtain the information so I could use the online banking. It was also really easy to make a deposit at their atms or in person at any one of their several branch locations. I have never incurred any additional fees either.I would recommend this credit union to anyone and have done so.
PSECU is a very good credit union. I found them while attending Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, as they have an office on campus. They offered a promotional fifty dollars to any student who opened a checking account with them, so I did. After a few days, the fifty dollars showed up in my account. They sent me a debit card, along with checks. Overall, PSECU is a very friendly and reliable credit union, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a credit union.
PSECU is one of the best credit unions I have ever dealt with. I have been a member for over 15 years and I can honestly say that I have no complaints or worries. I can do ALL of my banking online, which I really love and is exceptionally convenient. I also enjoy the real-time-banking aspect of their online banking. When I make a deposit, it's there immediately and doesn't take hours to update as some other banks do. All of my direct deposits are there and available at midnight on the day they are scheduled to be. I can appl... read more
I had an account with this bank while I was in college and a student group I was an officer in also had a group account and for both accounts I always received excellent service. The application was simple, there were no hidden fees (really no feed), and they always dealt with me fairly and promptly. I also really appreciated the full service 24 hour ATM near my apartment, which allowed me to deposit checks and do most other banking quickly and easily whenever I needed it.
I was able eligible to get an account with PSECU because I was a student at Harrisburg Area Community College in Lancaster, PA. This was wonderful because I wanted an account with a credit union. I was able to apply online. This process was fairly simple and when I did need help a customer service representative got back to me quickly. The only downfall in Lancaster is that there is only one actual branch and that is at Millersville University which is somewhat out of the way for me. This makes it inconvenient to do some of ... read more
I have been with PSECU for a few years. We recently opted for a car loan with them but I could not be approved due to lack of credit history, but I can't build history without having a card/loan against my name. My husband got the loan instead with a great interest rate.
My only issue is that despite several attempts to link our accounts, it still has not happened. We have called, emailed & faxed in the authorization forms several times with still no result.
Otherwise, PSECU has great customer service & knowledge... read more
With this savings account, you must have a minimum balance of $5 which in my opinion is extremely low. I just want to mention that I have a checking account with them and while neither account really accrues interest, it is extremely easy to transfer money from my checking account (where i get my direct deposit) to my savings account. This is nice as it makes it extremely easy to save for certain items.
I've been banking with PSECU for many years now. I really like that they send out important information regarding financial legislation that is going on that I wouldn't know about otherwise. Their website is really good, clear and concise and I think they explain things really well, in terms that the everyday person can understand. I would like to see more branches, but I understand why they are moving away from physical locations.
If you or a family member is an employee of the state of Pennsylvania, including public school teachers, then you qualify for an account here, and I would definitely take advantage! My family has been enrolled here for over 18 years and has never had a problem! The ONLY reason I gave them 3 stars for application is because many people will not qualify because they are not PA state employees. The main disadvantage is that it is hard to make cash withdrawals and the only branch that I know of in south central PA is in Harrisbu... read more
