Waste of tape There is one problem with otherwise good design: waste of labeling tape. This machine leaves about 2-3 cm blanks on either side which, in my opinion, is unacceptable.
Wastes too much label On every label there is 1" of blank label on either side of text. Such a waste and despite options to adjust margin, it doesn't reduce it enough. I have more blank label in garbage than printed label.
Functionality ok, blank left margin wastes label Two cons: 1. Batteries are not included 2. There is blank margin in the left that will waste label, and it cannot be fixed by changing margin settings.
I've come to hate the P-Touch. As a long-time owner, I've come to despise the P-Touch. It defaults to the largest type setting every time you clear the text, so you end up print the largest possible label string possible, which I believe is a diabolical plan to sell more label tape.
External design is really, really good! Software and tape cost are terrible. Yes, it makes labels. Yes, it even makes fancy labels, but I just want to give a shout out to the product design team. You did a great job. This product is really, really fun to use. It employs what I can only describe as a business - Fisher Price style. Some products are just designed and made really well. This is one of them. And so, this thing surprised, and, honestly, delighted me style-wise. It is hard to explain, one of those ineffables, until... read more
One Star Broke after three labels.
I wish, wall adapter was included in the package This is a handy machine. Taking one star off for not including the wall adapter for this. Six batteries waiting for once in a while usage is a bit too much.
P touch wastes tape $$$$$$$$ Nice features but it wastes so much tape. When it prints it leaves almost an inch of blank space each time. That adds up. Throwing this away and sticking to my old dymo
what progress? Instead of making better and better label makers, Brother is regressing . From tape waste to the maximum label size of only 12 mm (less than 1/2 ") - this label has so many limitations that I would name it the worst Brother label maker ever made. And don't forget - the tape loading occurs by opening bottom battery panel - absolutely stupid idea when quick change of color or size is needed. Oh, wait... I cannot use 3/4 or 1" tape here anyway. returning this piece of junk.
