Terrible for MAC and software stinks. Really had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, two major issues: 1) It would not play nice with my Mac. Most of the time it would show up as disconnected, even it when it was connected. Weirdly, the Drive would show up so I could launch the Lite software off the device, but I could not use the P-Touch Editor installed on my Mac. 2) Even when I could use the P-Touch software -- IT SUCKS. I mean royally sucks. I couldn't even get the software to easily print an auto-length label withou... read more
Not ready for primetime! Looks to be OK as far as the printer itself goes, but......the cassettes. :-( The instruction sheet tells you to "Insert a tape cassette and close the cassette cover". No caveats concerning the cassette itself. If you don't put it in just right it jams and guess what! You just bricked your entire cassette. Not a well thought out system. Back she goes.
Wasted way too much time and got a lemon After frustrating experience with Brother software support, concluded hardware is defective. Wasted way too much time and got a lemon.
Mac update makes it unusable Bought to use on a MAC. Current software due to Mac Updates does not read the unit any more. Tried a few things suggested but no luck. I upgraded from older model because it said it worked on a Mac...but that only lasted until the most recent update. I've tried it on 3 macs and will not read the USB.
... with Amazons return policy I'll NEVER buy a product like this online again I bought this a couple months ago and now with Amazons return policy I'll NEVER buy a product like this online again. It completely stopped working, so I'm stuck with lables and a machine that doesn't work. NOT HAPPY
It wastes a lot of tape and it is a ... It wastes a lot of tape and it is a pain in the neck to use. The device has to go into a "special mode" to be used from the computer (It's got no other input source so I don't know how else it would be used). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The software is flexible but clunky, and to print a simple label is way more work than it warrants. I wish I'd bought a stand-alone unit instead.
They really don't seem to care about Mac users. P-Touch editor sucks. They really don't seem to care about Mac users, only Windows users. The install instructions are very hard to follow for the Mac, it keep bouncing back to Windows with details and ignoring the Mac. Waste a lot of tape. The editor SUCKS! Maybe once your learn it, it will get easier, but they don't make it easy to learn. It's just not intuitive. They need to hire someone who knows how to write a manual and install insgructionsl. How hard is it to write a WYS... read more
It works on Mac but is a little hokey I had an earlier PT model that didn't work when I switched to Mac. So I bought this one to replace it. I love printing the labels and they hold up for years. This doesn't actually install as a printer on Mac. It detects a USB device and then if you open the folder you can launch the pTouch Lite application. If you copy the pTouch Lite app into you applications folder, it doesn't work. It also doesn't show up with printers and doesn't have a print queue. So Brother, try to explain how to ... read more

This is a nice label maker BUT they totally screw you on the label tape- unless there is a setting I can not find and we've looked...- the label maker automatically wastes about 3/4" of tape every time we print something. It's really irritating and makes me grumble at Brother every time I print something. I wouldn't buy it again. It's not considerate of their customers or the environment.
