Not a bad product however there are issues with Apple computers This is not a bad product it was a little difficult to set up on my MacBook Pro. When the operating system upgrades it become an issue again. Quite honestly I think that the user interface is a little difficult to ears and quite honestly I wish I had just bought an old fashion and P touch with the keyboard it would be. Because I use it with a laptop if I'm going to make labels it's kind of a hassle to pull this out plug it all in the print what I should've bough... read more

I later wanted to use it for another job and all it did was jam, ever time I printed. It is completely useless now, all it does is jam. Everything looks clean. Also, their software pretty much sucks. It appears to have been written when Visual Basic came out or something--I mean it really sucks. Brother failed big time on the software. On the hardware, looks like ... read more
Software???? I have a pt-2430 attached...works fine with software from brother 5.x. I just added this p700. It doesn't show in the P-Touch software....and installed as a DEVICE rather than a PRINTER. right clicking in printers give me access to an application pt-lite 10 which is a bare bones "software" that only operates out of 'files' associated with the p700 and cannot be used as a shortcut....please advise what I am doing wrong.
Bad software The printer is great, the software is horrible. How could anyone screw that up??
Thought I'd done my homework, but overlooked a couple of big issues. I purchased this unit because I had to ... Brother stopped Mac driver support for the excellent PT-9200DX; ostensibly this newer unit's predecessor. Seemed fair enough to upgrade label printers after 12 years, but got caught off-guard by two not-so-well documented caveats: (1) the P700 print engine is only 180DPI (vs the 9200's 360DPI), so tape graphics are unacceptably low-res, and (2) the P700's "TZe" tape standard is not backwards compatible, so my stash... read more
Don't buy this if you have a Mac. Really. I had a perfectly good Brother PC-driven label maker that worked great. Then my last Windows PC died, and I became an all-Apple household. That was fine, but my old Brother label maker needed to be replaced because it wouldn't work with a Mac. So I bought this thing, which is Mac-compatible. I just had the pleasure of using it for the first time. Two hours later, I've made about a dozen simple labels. I have also tried and failed to prevent this thing from wasting an inch of label ta... read more
Not as advertised and Brother technical support was unable to help.. After installing the software, without difficulty. I tried to print label. First the actual frame of the label maker is almost impossible to open. SO inserting the tape was unnecessarily hard. I finally succeeded and wanted to teach myself how to print labels. I studied the manual for hours and found it very difficult to understand. I usually do not have trouble installing and performing tasks on the computer,. I have installed , wireless and other devices ... read more

One thing that I simply can't get over is the amount of wasted label space. This is an obvious consumables money grab. With small jobs wasted space is more than 100% of the actual text size. All label printers do this to some degree but I have never seen it this bad. I will be using this (or a solution that makes more sense) 20-30X a week and simply can't justify the waste. ... read more
