Worst label maker ever So I waited too long before trying to use my Brother Label Maker and now I'm stuck with a large paperweight. The NFC Does not work at all - Can't pair it with a phone to save my life (tried on multiple different phones with NFC). So I thought, okay - they must have some PC Drivers and Software to run the device... NOPE. What a worthless device... I will never buy another Brother product again.
Like all Brother printers...constant wi-fi issues The P-Touch Editor is the opposite of User Friendly. The printer cuts off a 1" piece of tape before every label. It turns itself off after a few minutes of non-use, then struggles to connect to the wi-fi - everytime. I have run an office with 4-5 wi-fi or network printers for more than 20 years. Undocumented Junk I don't know how others got this to work - perhaps mine is just plain busted. The documentation is hugely spotty and the machine doesn't behave at all. It lights up 3 lights - and that is it. It doesn't see my Galaxy S8+, kind of a standard phone. Maybe they only tested with apple? The web site leads you in circles. I've wasted enough time. Trying to decide if I want to return it or just smash it against the wall!!!!!!!!!!! 3 Hours on this piece of s*** - enough!
Awful Awful
Unit was all scuffed up, hope it works Took this out of the box, and the top was covered in scuff marks. At first I thought it was just dirty and I tried to clean it, but then realized it was actually scuffed up. I will test it out and update this review based on how I actually like the product. Meanwhile I will process an exchange. I hope this actually works, and wasn't damaged more than the superficial scuff marks.
Look elsewhere for mobile printing MIght work well via USB but outside of that look elsewhere. The NFC does not work. The phone will beep and the NFC light on the printer will blink but nothing happens. Only supports 2.4GHz WiFi. I used WiFi direct connection with my phone and the brother software, the software shows that it's connected to the printer, but if I try to do any function at all, I get a communications error. Useless, returning.
That the Lithium battery id not included and must be bought seperately It did not come with the Lithium battery! I wish the details were clearly stated.
I am returning it. I am returning it because it won't set up with my computer, it came without instructions, and the IOS app is very limited.
The only way we could get it to work was ... The only way we could get it to work was through USB cable. The network and NFC don't work. We tried it will Android devices and Windows computers and unless the USB is connected, it doesn't work.
