1.0 out of 5 stars Have to buy special brother paper Most of these companies require you to buy their very expensive label rolls. There are other companies out there that do not require the expensive rolls and you are free to choose whichever label you like as long as it’s 4x6.
The warranty won't be honored The printer itself is great overall. I had a problem where it wouldn't power on, so I went to use the warranty. I was emailed back from Brother and told it was a 2-year warranty. BUT I couldn't use it because Amazon (along with other online retailers) are considered the first buyer, and I was considered the second. A Big Disappointment This printer worked well for awhile & I was very encouraged by this, then I started running into errors & issues. Now my printer will not stop printing extra pages when it is set to the default settings. These labels are expensive, it prints an extra blank pages every time. Then when I set it to cut after each label is printed it will print a few then give me an error message, then printer will then take a long pause, then I have to reboot it. Software refuses to install printer driver--USELESS JUNK DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. Printer driver won't install and my return window is closed. This printer is now resting comfortably in a local landfill. COMPLETE JUNK. DON'T BUY.
I cannot get this sucker to work! I bought this label printer, because I read that it is compatible with Apple products. However, I have had major compatibility issues since I got it. I will get it set up and it prints a few labels properly, then it prints the labels very tiny, so that they cannot be used and ultimately stops printing. Caveat: I have NOT tried to access tech support. I have been really busy and so I have continued to use my old printer. I will contact tech support and see if I can get these issues resolved.
Prints inside out The picture is misleading. The actual label prints inside out and makes it useless for our use. I never got to to try it.
Overpriced printer and unethical gouging on replacement labels I had a brother ql-500 that I have used for about 5 years without any issues that I got for about $50. Recently paypal forced me to start using shipstation which only uses 4x6 labels. Apparently many other other people had the same problem at the same time because I had to pay $75 over MSRP to get this model. It worked ok with sample labels, until I had to change rolls.
