CAUTION! PROPRIETARY LABELS! Be advised.. This printer used a proprietary "cartridge" type of label with a data encoding set of pins in the bottom of the label well which prevents you from using any standard 4x6 label forcing you to buy their "special" labels. This was not clear to me in by the product description and was only let in on this little surprise once I started to set the device up.
Only can use brother genuine labels This printer doesn't allow to use free UPS labels. Printer price is reasonable but need to purchase expensive genuine brother labels. It is wasting money.
The most frustrating device I’ve ever owned. Do not buy. If you look at my reviews you can see I have a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews. I can always find a benefit to a product, but this printer, is one of those devices I have learned to despise. I hate it, and I mean, I want to take this printer and throw it out of my window but unfortunately my house is a single story and the crash it would make in the grass isn’t even worth the effort. So far so good Just got started. Printed two shipping labels so far for eBay sales.
Can’t print off your iPhone No WiFi printing you have to get the Ql-1110 which is $100 more, if you want to print off your iPhone. You can print off androids and computers with this though.
Labels are extremely expensive, not worth it, + a few major flaws At first glance, this printer was great. Not compatible with UPS application. We bought this product because we wanted to print out UPS shipping labels as we use their services weekly. Unfortunately, it does not print UPS shipping labels. If this is not an issue with you, then it'll work fine. However, as a product that prints shipping labels, its description or notes should annotate a lack of compatibility or capability to work with certain applications. JUNK, you have to download their software to print labels and do 1,000 steps. I have a macbook pro and this thing is a pain. You have to take 1,000 steps before printing one label. I was hoping it would be easier than what I do now which is printing half sheet labels directly from any website (etsy, amazon, ebay) but no, this thing took 4 hours of my time trying to figure it out and trying their ptouch program. DO NOT BUY_USER INTERFACE SUCKS This is the worst piece of garbage. Whoever designed this user interface and all of the hoops you have to jump through in the right order to even print one label needs to be fired and never work again designing user interfaces. It is horrible. I cannot get it to print on my mac. I have followed every instruction and the paper sizes and it gives me various error messages or it says it is printing and does NOTHING. Be warned this printer hates Macs.
