disappointing service & experience...under-staffed for our party and the area of the restaurant we were seated. Beverage Service, table maintenance, and order taking was slow and I felt like the server was set up to fail and should have had more support. Never saw management presence expect at check-in and they should have helped the situation. If the definition of value is cost (expense) divided by expectation, then Redeye did not do very well. The food was expensive, the service fair, and the food felt like it was prepared by cooks, not a chef. The restaurant is lovely, all the people seemed nice, but there was no soul, no fire. It just felt like it was operating by rote, and certainly not an experience that would either bring us back, or would encourage us to refer Redeye to other people. I had their signeture dish . Lobster pot pie and ...other than vegatables the lobster was hard to find and tough. I would not recommend. Service was very scarce!
We've been there for lunch and it was great, we've even taken friends there. But dinner was much different. I'd keep it as a lunch place and skip the dinner.
Serve soup without a spoon and then disappear? Ridiculous. We had to get up to track down a spoon while our soup cooled. And the prices are outrageous, given today's economy. Stay away. There are many better restaurants in NYC (with spoons!).

Slow, inattentive service. Far too expensive for what you get.
awful service. many errors. server was hard to understand and took a long time to repair order. were not flexible to replace fries or baked potato with a vegetable or small side salad. will not return soon!
Quality and service has started to decline in recent years. I have been a regular customer for 4 years now so it is noticed.
