Not bad....fun atmosphere is all I can say. The food is not that good.
We were a group of four and everything that each of us had was excellent, from fish (dover sole was cooked perfectly)pasta to steak. Fresh guacamole was fantastic. Nice touches, like warm cookies from the oven at the end of dinner. Our waiter was either new or overwhelmed (or just didn't care). Waiter was a little too laid back--restaurant was not that busy, so no excuse---
Food was amazing, however the server...not so much. Would go back if I was guaranteed to not have the same server.
Never a destination restaurant, but convenient to City Center and Carnegie Hall. Noticeable difference in the menu and the quality of the food since our last visit. Maitre'd seemed clueless, but the waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. Won't be rushing back.
The food is excellent and it's a great place for an informal business lunch. Very good fish and salads.
I had been to the Redeyed Grill many times several years ago and found the food to be innovative and the sushi in particular to be very fresh and attractively served. This was not the Redeyed Grill I remember. The presentation was fair - the food not very fresh. I was okay - but not great.
We booked for four people New Year's eve and were not informed in advance of the non optional fixed price menu at $150 per person plus an obligatory 20% gratuity plus sales tax. At such a late hour we were left with no option but to accept. However my wife was not feeling well after a journey from the UK that day and we requested that she have a single course. We have dined at Redeye several times and am especially fond of the Cobb Salad. We were disappointed in the Filet (fatty, uneven piece of meat) and surprisingly by the Cobb. There was too little lettuce, the chicken chunks were too big and the normally finely chopped and mixed salad was not so.
