Bartolotta's Ristorante is our anniversary choice every year, in addition to heading there whenever we crave amazing Italian haute cuisine - sorry for mixing ethnicities :) They have the best calamari in the Milwaukee area, the most delectable pasta dishes (you can tell they put huge effort into the sauces that accompany each homemade pasta selection) and drool-worthy desserts. Salads - where they get such delicious tomatoes all year round is a mystery! It is the only Italian restaurant in greater Milwaukee where I could clo... read more
As usual, my wife and I returned to Ristorante Bartolotta for my birthday. We are lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber in our neighborhood, and the quality has remained remarkably consistent. I had the tasting menu, which consisted of very interesting dishes and excellent wine pairings. My wife shared my dishes and enjoyed classic Caesar salad and carpaccio. The carpaccio is the best in the Milwaukee area, so good that we had two orders on this visit.
My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner and we're not disappointed. Food well presented and not obnoxiously small like some upscale restaurant. Fresh tasting food and nice atmosphere. Not to mention half price wine bottles Mon and Tuesday helped to ease the discomfort at the time to pay the bill.
Much too loud. Much too crowded. Too many tables cramped into the space and had the servers squeezing between tables packed against the bar. Not romantic at all and this ruined the experience. Also, servers are very friendly but for a fine dining experience it felt like we were being rushed and interrupted too often.
Although it has been around for 20 years now, Ristorante Bartolotta is still delivering. With amazing food, a cozy ambiance and decent staff, the restaurant is in the top tier of all dining in Milwaukee, not just in Italian food.
Never disappointed. The food is excellent anything you wouldselect. Service is friendly and always helpful to select. We love this restorant.
Everything was okay with a much smaller menu options then I remembered from the past. My wife's pork chop was excellent. My seafood tasted okay but was a little dry, which was corrected when I asked for some drawn butter. Meal would have benefitted from some form of starch. Lack of any veal dish was disappointing. The wine special on Monday-Tuesday was great but overall the wine prices are very high for the wines involves
My wife and I enjoyed another enjoyable anniversary dinner at Ristorante Bartolotta. The menu is concise but always very good and there are so many great wines to pick from. Our server, Elizabeth, was always there when we needed her and she made our night enjoyable.
We have been to this restaurant three times and the food and service has always been excellent. Our one complaint is that the tables are too close together. It is difficult to get up and move around to bar or rest room and, because everyone is sitting so close we have to listen to each others conversations and of course some people compensate by talking louder.
