Carol Rosenthal is absolutely the best! She always takes the time to ask about how my skin is doing and always does her utmost to be sure I get the results that I am looking for. I have been coming to Carol for at least 5 years to do dermasweep and other treatments on my face, however, there have been too many treatments to recall all the names of those treatments! I was a patient of Monterey dematologist Dr. Gorelick for years. He retired. My treatments were simple and quick...freeze off a few skin spots that were from too much sun when young (worked farms/ranches in H.S. without skin protection). Excellent doctor. So? So I had a few skin areas on face and neck I wanted to have frozen (they use a liquid nitrogen spray bottle). I made appointment. Was seen pretty fast (within about 1 1/2 weeks)...good. I had an absolutely amazing experience with Dr. Gordon. I came in to have what I thought was a cyst removed. I waited literally only 1 minute in the waiting room and then I was seen. I'm used to a 20 minute wait or more sometimes at other offices. He walked me through the procedure, made sure I was going to be comfortable, and then booked me for the surgery. I was to have my first apointment with Christina Wahlgren at 3:40pm. I went early because traffic on #68 can be heavy at that time. When I arrived at 3:30pm and checked in, I was told that she had departed unexpectedly at 1pm....and did I receive a call to cancel? I replied no one had reached out. This review is for Carol specifically. I used to have regular breakouts on my nose, forehead and cheek even, uneven pigmentation, some seasonal dermatitis .... Carol is basically awesome. She figured out what works for me, doesn't push products or treatments that you don't need, and genuinely listens to you. She helps my skin look as good as I feel inside.

I literally never write reviews but I need to share my experience to those those dealing with acne. I began to see Dr. Wahlgren in August 2016. I had tried it all at that point, so I was looking for professional help. I had no visible acne just scarring. She started with some facial topical treatments and ended up prescribing Accutane. 5 months after accutane, I still have scarring and ended up paying over $1,000 in billing because they were not accepting my Anthem Blue Cross insurance anymore. I was seen by Dr. Wahlgren several months ago to have two moles on my neck removed. I was very disappointed from the start of the appointment. I waited for about twenty minutes past my appointment time. Although, she did apologize for being late. I would have just left and scheduled another appointment somewhere else if she didn't. During that first appointment I remember Dr. Wahlgren mentioned to the nurse that there would need to be a follow up procedure/appointment after my mole removal. I had high hopes for this practice but was let down. Waited 20 minutes, appointment was rushed and I wasn't even examined. After telling Dr Gordon the issues I was having he asked me 1 question and sitting about 2 feet away he didn't even bother to take a closer look at the issues on my hands and face. The appointment was literally 4 minutes and he rushed out scurrying the next patient's room. What a waste of time and a referral.

I don't normally write reviews of any kind. However, I am so UPSET right now with this practitioner that I feel it was necessary. My first (and last) appointment was mediocre at best, (Medical Doctor's condescending attitude and inept staff that didn't even know how to work with my insurance), so I decided not to go back.
