Purchased a $200. certificate for my son 10/25/2021. When he had his first appointment, he asked to use the certificate for his co-pay and was denied? Why? Seems they wanted to bill his insurance company instead. So they billed my son a co-payment each time and still could not use the certificate. I called and was told they would reimburse me the $200. but that I had to wait 1-2 months? WHY? So I am headed to Monterey to insist I get my money back. Strange practice?!?! What good is a gift certificate if you can not use it?

*** My last two visits to have 8 locations where skin cancer was potentially suspect, went so comfortably that I'm here to say my thank you's both to California Skin Institute in Monterey at their location in the Ryan Ranch complex. My least favorite thing in life is pain. So I was extremely made at ease my attending doctor & her assistant. I've been taking my daughters to Dr Bolante for over a year. I should have left after the first visit. You have to book months in advance and then she gives you zero bedside manner. You are made to feel like she has no time to give you and god forbid you ask questions during your five minute appointment. They sent lab work order to a non-existent fax number so when we arrived at the lab they had no order. I immediately call the office and cannot get a human on the phone to save my life. I have been a patient of Dr. Christina Bolante for many years now and I am always reminded of the amazing bedside manner I continually receive from Dr. Bolante. I live in Arizona full time now but whenever I'm on the Monterey Peninsula, I make sure to get my appointment with Dr. Bolante. She is truly a gift to California Skin Institute and all of her patients. My wife and I are clients from up north but moved down to Carmel last year. Was surprised to see all the bad reviews. Our doctor was excellent. The wait staff was very professional and on top of everything. My guess is they read their own reviews and improved. We are going back.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ballante and Dr. Crispin. I have not seen them in two years because of Covid and because I have been fine. Now I am enflamed with I think is eczema all up and down my legs plus psoriasis (I think) and now a new rash down my back and lower back. I am a mess. $75 for a 5 minute visit! Took 3 months to get the appointment. When I arrived I mentioned I had a spot on my face that I wanted looked at, she said because my appointment was for a cosmetic consult , she couldn't look at the spot. Are you kidding?? I spent $75 for her to recommend fillers. The internet could have done that for free.

Dr Henry is the worst doctor I've ever been to in my life. Do NOT go to him. He doesn't listen, is always in a rush, doesn't care about his patients. I asked in one of my appointments for a recommendation for a good acne friendly sunscreen and his response was "I'm sure you can figure it out". What the heck? So what am I coming to you for. My skin has never looked worse than it does now after using the products he's prescribed. I wish I'd never gone to him.

You deserve better. Seriously. Dr. Christina Bolante is the worst! Run.... I waited a long time for my appointment and was excited to see Dr. Bolante. I have a lot of skin imperfections, some broken capillaries and I've never had any real dermotology care. I'm at the age now where I really want to perfect my skin and I was also interested in any cosmetic procedures they may offer to reduce redness and the broken capillaries.
