I would like to commend 2 employees of the Skin Institute family, at the San Jose-Los Gatos location. The first would be Dr. Colby. I had to wait a very long time to get my first appointment with her, as she is so busy. She is a class act. I see her once a year for pre-Cancer screenings. She is very thorough and explains everything in great depth, in a way that I can understand it. Over the past few years, she has frozen many spots that looked worrisome to her. I first chose to see Joe Gorelick at California Skin Institute because of the raving reviews on his personal Yelp page. I should have read reviews here before I committed! UGHH. When I first got there, his attitude was abrupt and not very friendly. I had a couple of things to cover. First, I wanted him to check out some itchy bumps that I was getting. They don't care about their patients, if their inexperienced staff mess up something you'll need to pay and take another appointment to let them fix it

I do not review often but I had a horrible experience which resulted in permanent scarring so I want to make people aware and recommend avoiding this place at any cost. I have some hairs on my chin so I went there for laser hair removal treatment. My treatment was performed by Kathy. First two treatments caused mild pain and did not show any improvement, which was ok as I was told it may need 5-6 sessions. Love Love Love Dr. Morales!! Top notch dermatologist with extra fellowship in cancer, awsome personality too. Nice Staff, George at front desk is great !!

I was seen by Dr. Michelle Mak-Fung MD I received excellent care by her she was very gentle and thorough in getting rid of my basil patch on my nose and I had some other spots that She got rid of I recommend this dermatology clinic for everyone it was excellent care

I went to CSI because my husband really like Dr. Morales, as did I, but that's when the love ended. Dr. Morales and the support medical staff I encountered were competent and friendly but...it was after my excision for melanoma that my frustrations began. On many phone calls to the office, I was on hold for 10+ minutes before I gave up. After the procedure I was never told what my follow up should be(when should I get checked again). Bedside manner was awful. I took my 13-year-old daughter to her first dermatologist appointment due to an acne break out and Nurse Practitioner Joe G. (Honestly thought he was a Dr., was never told that he wasn't....& I suppose it doesn't matter, since my insurance will get billed the same rate as a Dr.) LG/SJ wanted to put her immediately on Accutane! Geogre was so knowledgeable and personable at the front desk! Also Nikka the at the skin bar was great and Lauren Hirsch the PA was amazing! Would definitely recommend the California skin institute!
