I had an appointment with Joe. When he came in the room he asked why I was there and I told him I had an itchy spot on my arm. He didn't look at it, and ran his hand across it for about 1 second. Didn't tell me what he thought it was but told me he would call in a prescription. I then got a call from my pharmacy telling me that the cream was not covered by Blue Shield and it would cost $1000. I went for a consult here. Instead of the medical doctor I was examined by the physician assistant, Gorelick. He did a cotton swab of my toe and I never got the result back or any followup schedule, I never got any disagnosis report or call. I called and asked for written diagnosis and any report and never received it so the condition was never treated. I DO NOT recommend them. I got a skin scraping on the bottom of my foot and they left before I could ask questions about being able to work. I work retail so I'm standing all day. My foot is still bleeding and I was given no instructions on how to care for the wound. I have called twice and got sent to voicemail and they have not returned my calls about what to do about the bleeding and pain. Horrible service!! I forgot to take my wallet with me so I didn't have my insurance card but was able to find my insurance information through medical record. I already early to my appointment 10 minutes, been waiting for this guy to go back and forth to other ppl to figure out if they can accept it without insurance EVEN WHEN I ACCEPTED TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET!!! All I can say is it fortunately was not a life threatening issue I needed medical attention for. I called the San Jose/Los Gatos location yesterday and was able to get an appointment for today, awesome. I arrive and there are 5 or 6 people in the lobby. 20 minutes later I am the only patient. Then several more people show up for appointments and they start calling them back. So I walk back up to the desk and I am asked if I need to check in. I tell them 'no, I checked in 45 minutes ago'. So they go to 'check' on the issue.... read more

The customer service at this location is non existant. No one is friendly, no one smiles, no one answers the phone or responds to your voicemails. They treat you like crap and don't even say please or thank you. I've had to call over 4 times to get a prescription refill and basically insist that I would be sitting on the phone until I have confirmation that it is being sent over to the pharmacy. I had a very similar experience with my poor daughter who has eczema and needed a Dr. note to carry her cream with her at school. I... read more

Had Botox with Joe. After reading some reviews I was skeptical but I found him to be very pleasant and jovial. Great experience. Now on to the Botox...I have been getting Botox for about 20 years and his was one of the most painless techniques I've received, just terrific. I would like to commend 2 employees of the Skin Institute family, at the San Jose-Los Gatos location. The first would be Dr. Colby. I had to wait a very long time to get my first appointment with her, as she is so busy. She is a class act. I see her once a year for pre-Cancer screenings. She is very thorough and explains everything in great depth, in a way that I can understand it. Over the past few years, she has frozen many spots that looked worrisome to her.
