Ela's was a great spot. It was a romantic dinner for 2 but I would go again with friends. I had the pan seared grouper, my boyfriend ordered the scallops. Both meals were amazing as were the oysters. They also had a singer/ guitarist for entertainment this past Thursday. He was really good. We sat in the bar after dinner and listened to him for over an hour

This is my husband's favorite restaurant, so I take him here for his Birthday each year (and on other special occasions). This year we again came for the wine-pairing dinner and brought friends along. Our hostess, Katarina, made sure we were comfortably seated and was knowledgeable about the dinner offerings and the wines. The food and corresponding wine selections were excellent. Wines I typically would not select, such as Reisling, paired so well with the soup/salad course and really complemented the lobster bisque and pea... read more

The table by the window was wonderful with the view of the boats. However the service was very poor. Because I had been to Ela's before and know the excellent service and food I would have been disappointed.

This was our second time eating at Ela's over the past year. Both times we had reservations. Both times we were put in the upper mezzanine level in the back behind a wall. Only three tables there. Good news is that it's very quiet. Bad news is we felt as if we didn't meet the standards for the rest of the establishment. It definitely gives you an excluded feel. Now I know that when I make reservations, I must specifically request to get a table on the main floor. Other than that, food and service were fine. I had a January r... read more

My wife and I dined at Ela's during restaurant week in Hilton Head. It was a very enjoyable visit. The chef set up a wonderful menu. We also added the wine pairing which was a well done match to the food. We will definitely be coming back at a future time.

Went to restaurant week at Ela's wonderful food and interesting wine pairings. Waitress was professional and didn't try to be our friend. One annoying thing occurred. Ordered a Dewars. Listed as$8, was charged $10 because it was served "on the rocks". This was a first for someone who has ordered Dewars as a pre dinner cocktail for 40+ years. Seemed like a silly rip off on a check of $120. Great meal marred by silliness.

Our dining experience at Ella's was wonderful. The atmosphere was great. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The view from our table was breathtaking. We went during restaurant week and had absolutely marvelous time. We cannot wait to go back.

We thought the tastings menu was excellent. The shrimp and grits cake plus tuna tartare was a great combination, as was the short rib and lobster. My only criticism was that the hot dishes could have been a little warmer, in fact someone on the next table sent the shrimp and grits cake back for a reheat.
