The view is beautiful and I assume it’s the only thing keeping it open. The calamari was reminiscent of a fake crab stick, our entrees were mediocre at best. Our waitress… she had several large tables and we were definitely an after thought.
I think our server forgot about us. The server made snarky comments. It was not warm and inviting. The kitchen messed up the order and the waiter never resurfaced to fix it or even check on us. We have been wanting to try Ella’s for a long time, it was pretty but otherwise very disappointed.
We have been to Ella’s several times, and went this time for a quiet evening with a view of the harbor is an early celebration of Mother’s Day with a friend. We were seated inside when we requested outdoor seating. The table was under an area where the light was out. The crab cakes were mimimal in flavor. The salmon was great but the mashed potatoes were cold. Our waitress was slow in checking on us.
Waiter said oh it’s your bday, and then never said another word or offered anything
Table given only had a partial marshland view, not on the water. Entrees came out immediately. They were dry crab cakes with an absence of crab. Cold, and had been sitting in kitchen, not freshly made. More like Stove top stuffing, with a cold white sauce on top. Wine list was poor, and only consists of no name wines. Bread was good. Server was pleasant enough. Meal was done in 30 minutes with most left behind. Very disappointing after positive online reviews.
Very disappointed with this trip to Ela’s. Seated at a table for two in a hallway, we got to see everyone coming into the restaurant. The menu was limited, oysters were a joke, and I had the worst piece of meat I’ve seen in decades. Very disappointed after a solid recommendation from the concierge. Limited wine selection as well…. Don’t expect too much at this spot.
We had reservations at on Saturday at 7:30, got there at 7:20… the female host told us our table wasn’t ready- but another couple came in without reservations got seated immediately. When we walked in the 1st thing she said ..” do you have reservations “ , the next couple came in, she greeted them with “ how may I help you “. Mediocre tuna, inedible oysters Rockefeller, very tasty entree, average desserts. Reasonably friendly but inatttentive and unpolished service. Very disappointed after 2 previous 4-5 star experiences.
