The setting of Ela's Blu Water Grill is nice...located on a harbor. The interior is spacious and inviting. Our waiter was courteous and efficient. What was a great disappointment was the food. The restaurant is touted to be the best on Hilton Head for fresh seafood. We both ordered the sea bass. It was not well seasoned and was lacking in a distinct taste. The portions were very small. TERRIBLE service, overpriced, views not that great
Overall it was a decent meal my wife's scallops were cooked perfectly, however I expected a lot more out of my grouper special being a local catch. The choice of food pairings with it did no justice mango salsa and micro greens. By no means a bad meal, but highly overrated.
The setting was great. The food had small portions. The lobster nachos were not very tasty.
I should have listened to the recent reviews. The atmosphere was really nice but the food was horrible. I was disappointed in the crab cakes and the fish. It wasn't warm and had absolutely no flavor. For the price it wasn't good at all. I don't usually write reviews but made sure to do this one. Don't go.
Do not waste your money on the food . The view was the only redeeming quality of the restaurant . Food was under quality and grossly overpriced . A bite sized single crab cake average tasting appetizer will set you back $14. Not kid friendly at all. Would not recommend this restaurant .
Have gone a couple of times while vacationing. The quality of food and service have gone down since our first visit. Will not be revisiting or recommending to others, very disappointed!

Second time eating at Ela's. First time two years ago was good. This time it started off bad and got worse. The hostess was snooty and kept us waiting while she checked on our table. We asked to change tables and she refused saying another party had requested it. When they arrived we asked them and they had no idea what we were talking about.
