Lovely view. However, it was noisy, service was rushed, the fish special was overcooked and dry.
The location and the view is great, The food and the service was Mediocre, the oysters were terrible. Service was fine, food was overpriced.
They really need to solve parking problem - took my husband over a hour to park and it nearly ruined our dinner.
The atmosphere was very nice and the location is outstanding. Parking is tough but the staff were kind enough to move cars around to accomodate us. The appetizers were well done. Our appetizers took a long time to come out leading to our server to comment that they were finally done when she brought them to the table. Both fish entrees were well over done. Food was ok but not worth the price. I am a big foodie and love going to high end restaurants. Would not go back. The food was boring. Nothing special.
We should of known better. There are no good restaurants in Shleter Cove but we were willing to give Ela's a try. The meal started off good. The bread & hushpuppies were good. The lobster nachos were pretty good until the busboy took our plates away before we were done. I ordered the lobster special only to find out they were sold out. We were so disappointed at our first and last experience at Ela's. We usually have such great meals at most restaurants on the island. Our waiter was very nice and efficient and we sat outside on the balcony overlooking the marina but those are the only good things we can say. Only 3 seafood items on the menu and 2 of the 3 were sold out at 7 pm. The Lobster bisque was inedible. No lobster to be found and some sort of fish oil drizzled on top. I think my husband said his seafood entree was good.
Nothing special about Ela's. I rarely return food but had to send back the crabcake because it did not taste like fresh seafood at all. Atmosphere seems to be frozen in time - like a scene from the Golden Girls tv show.
Fish was overcooked and dry, only thing worse was the service. Waiter was unhelpful, inflexible from what he thought our schedule should be (he made a mistake in not ordering an appetizer, and then wanted the entire table including kids to wait while said appetizer was ordered and consumed) despite what everyone at the table wished, and was not knowledgeable regarding the menu (insisted that the truffle fries were made from real truffles despite our questioning whether it was simply truffle oil on them)
