I run my website through Shift 4. It started out okay, but they are now charging fees without notification. They placed a hold on my account stating I owe $730.00. No bill or calls concerning this only a hold placed on my account and withholding my monies from orders that were placed on my website.

I am extremely disappointed with this companys billing practices.Without my knowledge or agreement, nearly $800 in insurance fees was charged to my account. Just HORRIBLE. We signed up to use them and before we on boarded or received any equipment they started charging us, we weren't using it. I contacted my Salesman and brought it to his attention, he reassured us it would stop and all monies refunded. We were with Shift 4 after they took over the CDG Commerce Quantum Gateway processor. We started taking credit cards through Quantum Gateway in 2011. This should be a negative 10. But the lowest they allow is one star!! DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! We had a contract that ended in 2023 and never signed another. We called to cancel to get out of it and they want to charge us over 600 dollars to cancel a contract that they don't have any signature on. I have been processing with this company, that has now changed name to Shift4 for over 17 years. Jan 1st the company charged my accounts over $8905 in compliance fees. We have 13 terminals and have now been over billed for 13 more terminals that were virtual. I had no idea that we were being charged for this. They have the worst customer service you could imagine there is ZERO response from anyone at this companies customer service both email and phone.we got nailed with an annual compliance fee they said they warned us about . Signed a contract with a "$189" compliance fee on it. They tried to ACH our bank account for 1k+ on 1/1/26 claiming they have the right to raise it at any time. Sat on hold for 50+ hours over the weekend for phone AND chat support. Theyre claiming they cannot help us further because we're "in collections" after 1.5 business days and theyre now going to keep 80% of our daily CC transactions processed through the system.
