This company has screwed up every step of the way and cost me a lot of money (and time). And on top of that, the results were terrible. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone to a local, trusted dentist.
Smile Active does everything to mislead their customers. Their website almost makes it impossible to cancel. The product doesn't work and you are locked in for at least 3 months without any ability to cancel. Customer service is horrible. Stay away from this company. *************
Extremely disappointed and wouldn't recommend to anyone. After considering other options and costs, I foolishly decided to go with Smile Direct to address crowing, mainly with the my lower teeth. I started in May 2022 and was due to complete treatment in October. Treatment was brutal - migraines, jaw pain and sever tooth pain, but things were moving and my bottom 2 front and 2 labial teeth were showing some space when flossing etc. It certainly wasn't the "transformation" promised and far from the 3D model used as a goal. AVOID THUS FRAUDULENT COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I purchased a 5 month treatment plan in April. Whitening pens and chewie mints were falsely advertised as I did not receive them. I called the company to log this issue and they apologised and were able to add credit to my account. I had to wait 4 weeks to receive my chewies as no member of staff requested to have chewies sent out to me even though I called in 4 times to chase this up. My teeth are straight enough, but I'm almost considering starting from scratch with a new company than dealing with smile direct customer service anymore. It's absolute chaos. You're promised things you will never receive, customer care specialists will abruptly hang up on you or leave the chat over and over again, my entire account description or label was changed so I no longer am able to receive any retainers for my bottom teeth...out of no where. Awful!!!!!!! I did the entire journey, but my teeth still weren't straight at the end so I tried to tell them that I still need more help. They deleted my account without my consent, and now suddenly all of my useful information is lost, and now I can't even get new retainers to fix my teeth. I would not recommend SDC to anyone I like! This has been the most frustrating and disappointing experience. After two years and three rounds of treatment, touch-ups, retainers and waiting months to hear back from SDC as of Monday, September 19, 2022 I have requested at least a partial refund. I have not received the results I was promised, if anything it is as bad if not worse than it was when I first began the treatment. I'm so tired of trying to get a response from customer support... I sent my impression kit 5 months ago and I'm still waiting for a touch up kit. Chat assistants don't solve my problem, the system crashes, no one gets in touch as promised and I keep being charged for a service that doesn't work.
