This is probably the worst medical experience I've ever had when I went to the ER yesterday. Another facility recommended them to me since they couldn't get an IV in and said St. David's has more tools to assist in finding veins. They were able to get an IV in after a couple attempts and that they did well. The nurses were friendly with their care but that is all I can say that was positive from my experience. I came in with severe chest and back pain. They drew blood, took an x-ray, and an EKG. They did not do a physical or... read more

This is absolutely the WORST experience I ever had. Not so much with the actual visit at the ER, but with everything else that followed. I went to to the ER in August for a major cut. I received 28staples (pretty old school). After the doctors were done with me, that's when the trouble started... I didn't have insurance, so a lady came to let me sign paperwork on the iPad. She was very disgusted by my wound, and rushed/ told me that I don't have to read all of it, it would just benefit me. She told me if I make a payment on ... read more

This is a review of the ER. We are new to Austin and live off of Duval and 183. My husband is a type 1 diabetic and has a history of heart complications (2 heart attacks with stents and congestive heart failure after 2 week longs stays in the hospital for pneumonia). He suffers from various complications as a result of having T1 diabetes for 50+ years. When we arrived in Austin, he established doctors at ADC for various his diabetes related conditions. This morning (Saturday) he woke up feeling tightness in his chest, h... read more

Delivered my baby here. Good experience initially. And then... Some doctors that I had no say or control over come and do whatever they deem necessary as part of their protocol (infant hearing checks for example). If there was any choice in the matter, I certainly didn't hear of it. St. Davids uses Dr's that are part of something called "Pediatrix Medical Group". Look at their Yelp reviews and heed caution. It appears we had the same experience many others had--filing with insurance, coding incorrectly, trying to get ... read more

My husband was taken from his work to the er here yesterday at 11:30 am. They seemed okay and competent in the triage - nurses that initially saw him were great after about an hour they ran him for a ct and within a few minutes after his return the doctor stopped in to let us know that they would be keeping him overnight. This was around 2 and where things started to really go down hill. We were advised there was a wait to get him a room - no problem it's a hospital and waiting is the nature of the beast. Two hours later som... read more

I just had the WORST patient experience at this ER. (To be clear my past experiences have been positive at this hospital). This one however was humiliating, disappointping, and incredbly frustrating. I suffer from chronic pancreatitis (NOT from alcohol abuse but rather an anatomical situation. I'm blessed with a smaller than normal pancreas.) and it can be ridiculously painful. That did not stop Dr. Edward Lee from not only making me feel like a drug seeking individual despite the clear history that I have had with my ... read more

I thought the days of diagnosing a woman with hysteria were over. I want to start this out by saying I am 26 and have NEVER been to the ER. So when I went and was basically casted aside I was mortified. I have been getting stabbing abdominal pain for the past month which feels akin to organs rupturing. I have this last week gotten an ultrasound and CT. This was my first ever experience with iodine contrast IV and I have been terribly sick for days since administration. I went to the hospital after calling my doctor who said... read more

I have End Stage renal failure and have been coming to this hospital for the past 4 years. Usually I am admitted to 4 North, where the staff is amazing and has almost become family! Unfortunately this time 4 North was full, so I was admitted to the 3rd floor....I have never had a worst experience in the 6 years I have been dealing with this illness! The nurses and techs were depressing, negative and at times just flat out rude. They were unorganized and almost frantic! The first dr I saw, Dr Oza had no idea what was going on... read more
