When our family founded Southland Sod Farms, we pledged to take whatever extra steps were necessary to cultivate the healthiest, most beautiful sod ever available in Southern California. We’ve been in the sod business for over 40 years now, and even after our initial success, the Gramckow family promise continues to innovate and improve.

I was very happy with the service provided by Southland Sod Farms. Renato was particularly helpful. The sod was delivered promptly as scheduled. Renato stopped by to give recommendations as my team was placing the sod over the subterranean irrigation. He checked multiple times ensuring that the grass was taking root as well as advising me on watering schedule adjustments. He is very quick to respond when I have called with questions and has addressed all of my concerns. Great customer service. Thank you Renato.
Southland Sod has a special power! No not just the great sod, but they have Mr Renato De Sousa. He is a technical sod / grass specialist. He came out to home to settle us in with our new lawn of Green Wave / Red Fescue. He actually comes out, and answers questions, has suggestions ( which we have followed ) - he made us feel like we were the Millionaire Lawn Owners, instead of the small yard owners. John Donenici paid me a house visit to look at my three month old new saint augustine sod. Several brown spots were showing up. John used a soil probe to determine my sprinklers coverage was uneven. He gave me several custom water measuring cups to place all around sod area and instructed me to make sure lawn was receiving 1.5 inches per week. Customer ‘care’ is important to our family when purchasing a product or service. My husband and I purchased sod from our landscaper and unfortunately we had issues with installation. Renato from Southland Marathon Sod is an exemplary employee example of what service means in an industry where ‘sod’ isn’t just ‘grass’. The service provided by southland sod is above and beyond what we expected to be honest. We thought they just help deliver grass and that’s it. I know we are a small customer in terms of the size order, around 250-300sqft, but the the care and support after we installed the grass from southland sod is something that you don’t often get.
