When our family founded Southland Sod Farms, we pledged to take whatever extra steps were necessary to cultivate the healthiest, most beautiful sod ever available in Southern California. We’ve been in the sod business for over 40 years now, and even after our initial success, the Gramckow family promise continues to innovate and improve.

I called Southland’s 800 number regarding my lawn’s turf as I had a few questions and they transferred me to Renato. Renato was AMAZING! I told him that my time was pretty tight and I needed advice on my Marathon seeding. He came to my place same day and took a look. He was very communicative and arrived on time. I would like to give a big shout out to Renato at Southland SOD for the excellent service he provided me this week. I had an issue with the SOD at my house and he came out and did an analysis of the problem. He made a recommendation that I am now implementing to solve the problem. Renato was very responsive, available and friendly, not something you find very often today. If you are in need of assistance I highly recommend that you reach out to Renato.

The marathon grass is beautiful. One minute my backyard is dirt and a few hours later it’s the Garden of Eden. Even my Gardner and his helpers were impressed at the quality of the grass and how lush and healthy it is. But just as important was the customer service. Norm Lopez is a gem. Alex facilitated my sod order with friendly service. She appeared to have a natural gift for customer relations. Alex mentioned some helpful aspects of the transaction that were of significant convenience for my sod purchase. I had Southland Marathon sod installed in my backyard about 4 months ago. I noticed some issues and called and received an immediate call from your representative, John Domenici. John and I communicated over text and I received excellent information. John also came to my house and thoroughly explained my issue and how to resolve it. Testing the Birdeye 5 star review!
Renato came to our home today to review the problems with our grass. He pointed out issues with our sprinklers and offered suggestions on how to adjust them in order to achieve better coverage. He also pointed out that we had an infestation of white grubs and offered a suggestion on a product on will kill them. I found Renato to be very knowledgeable and professional.

A few months ago, we ordered St Augustine sod. It was lush and green and super healthy. After laying it I realized I hadn’t put the fertilizer down 1st, so I sprinkled it on top. Then I watered it 3 times a day and it was soggy wet. Pretty soon it was a brown mat of dead grass. We called and said we messed up and killed it and asked what we did wrong.
