I just happened to buy my seed at Southland for planting new grass and knew very little about the proccess, I was given Renato's number and he walked me through the whole proccess and was very patient as I must have called him 10 times throughout. I later had 2 large dogs and gophers that ruined the lawn, so later last year I had to start from scratch and Renato was there for every question as he walked me through the proccess with suggestions once again! Renato is amazing.. I’ve been using Marathon Sod and Seed for decades because it’s a great product. Recently, on a re-seeding project for a house in Ventura, we had no luck. I called the company for advice, and the next day Renato showed up! Mistake on my part in planting, but fast forward, all is fixed, and grass is coming through. This is a great company with awesome customer support. Anything sod or seed related, ask for Renato!

Purchase my SOD from Southland SOD (September 2024). I had situation with my grass after allowing it to grow for more than 1 month.. Renato, assisted and supported on what needed to be done to revive my lawn… After all the seeding, mineral soil and water I was able to recover my SOD.. Thank you Renato & Juan …

I’m completely impressed with Norm’s professionalism and expertise. I see and hear the passion that Norm has, he cares about the customer and what the customer wants. I was so paranoid and in tears when I just couldn’t grow grass in my backyard. I tried seed multiple times, trimming the tree and I eventually cut the tree down. I had several questions mr. Norm Lopez listen to me patiently and answered one question at a time and made sure I understood the situation I was in and how to recover my lawn. After my experience today I know I made the right decision years ago using Southland sod. I believe it’s not only the product you sell that makes you a successful company but more over It’s the professional patient experience people you hire.

I was having problems with patches of my initial sod installation dying and Norm Lopez came out and took samples and gave me cups to place in different locations to ascertain if the irrigation coverage was sufficient. His hunch was correct, so I attempted to change sprinkler heads and told my "ex-gardener" who did nothing to remedy the situation i.e. add sprinkler heads in locations needed.
