When our family founded Southland Sod Farms, we pledged to take whatever extra steps were necessary to cultivate the healthiest, most beautiful sod ever available in Southern California. We’ve been in the sod business for over 40 years now, and even after our initial success, the Gramckow family promise continues to innovate and improve.

Purchase my SOD from Southland SOD (September 2024). I had situation with my grass after allowing it to grow for more than 1 month.. I’m completely impressed with Norm’s professionalism and expertise. I see and hear the passion that Norm has, he cares about the customer and what the customer wants. I was so paranoid and in tears when I just couldn’t grow grass in my backyard. I tried seed multiple times, trimming the tree and I eventually cut the tree down. We love our new lawn norm worked with our landscape contractor and together. They worked out a program and now we have a beautiful new lawn. We love it thank you Norm. That sound the bar.

I had several questions mr. Norm Lopez listen to me patiently and answered one question at a time and made sure I understood the situation I was in and how to recover my lawn. After my experience today I know I made the right decision years ago using Southland sod. I believe it’s not only the product you sell that makes you a successful company but more over It’s the professional patient experience people you hire.
I was having problems with patches of my initial sod installation dying and Norm Lopez came out and took samples and gave me cups to place in different locations to ascertain if the irrigation coverage was sufficient. His hunch was correct, so I attempted to change sprinkler heads and told my "ex-gardener" who did nothing to remedy the situation i.e. add sprinkler heads in locations needed. This company has excellent service. My husband realized after putting the sod in our backyard that there was still a patch of dirt, about 4' by 9', that was not covered. He reached out to the company, asked for a supervisor, and spoke with someone name John.This took place on the afternnoon of a holiday weekend, but John took the time to call several places where he could get the small amount of sod needed. We just put in some Marathon II sod at the beginning of July. All was going well, then we started getting some brown spots. John came out to inspect the situation. He was very knowledgeable and gave some sound advice. Looking forward to the outcome after applying his helpful tips.
