Dr. Rimer is honestly the reason that I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. She simply doesn't care. This is the second time that I have had a situation with my oldest son (6 years old) that I believe she handled poorly. She has been his primary pediatrician for about 4 years but only ever had to see her for the routine physicals, an ear infection, a rash, and now a weird soreness in his legs. The first situation that she really disappointed me with was the rash. He had a rash and immediately when she saw it she was te... read more
Business response:
Antonio, we have reviewed the specifics of this case with all of our partners and admin staff. We certainly understand many of your concerns. Privacy laws and ethical standards preclude us from addressing any of these in a public forum but understand you have talked with your child’s doctor as well about them. Thank you for the feedback, and thank you for the opportunity to care for your family and wish you all the best no matter what.
Don't waste your time on this place. The Front desk is extremely rude and unhelpful. The waiting room was stinky and had no toys, just a wobbly plastic slide on top of a dingy, thin rug. I witnessed a boy almost bust it on the tile floor twice while I was waiting in the long line to check in. They misplaced my first appointment in their system even though I received a confirmation via text. We never saw the doctor because I left before we even made it into the room at my second appointment. That's how disgusted I was with... read more
They very seriously need major revisions in their billing department, among other things. They mess up my billing ALL THE TIME and then are so nasty to me and refuse to fix the issue even when I present them with FACTS. Most recently they sent me to collections over $40.00, and the worst part about it was that it was their mess up to begin with! I then find out that they terminated my child as a patient because of this. When I tried to explain the situation and that my insurance company even verified that they billed the app... read more
My son and daughter have been Dr. Patil's patient since they were born over 15 years ago. Dr. Patil has been great to work with however, her office staffs are terrible. My wife's company got merged and we were forced to change insurance company because of the merger. We were being very careful about selecting which new insurance company to go with to ensure our kids can stay with Dr. Patil/Southwest Pediatric. For our son's and daughter's well check, her office called my wife to confirm the appointment one week prior. My wif... read more
The front office staff was very unfriendly and we were not satisfied with the after hours responses. For someone with a newborn especially I would not recommend it. The Dr we saw was ok but oddly never addressed our child and almost acted like they weren't in the room during appointments. I never felt like there was a true consult on things. Once we changed Pediatricians and went to a new practice it was so much better!
My daughter saw Dr Powell at the southwest location. I felt judged as a parent by Dr Powell. My daughter is in the 90+ percentile of height and weight...I am 5'11" and my husband is 6'5". I got a mini lecture on what my daughter "should be eating" instead of a discussion regarding what I am already feeding my kids. We are healthy eaters and gluten free...we are not an obese family. However, it was implied we are unhealthy and my daughter is too big. We ARE tall and so is our extended family. I fretted and worried about... read more
We had a not so great experience with a doctor here, she actually told us that our breastfed baby needed iron so we should put meat into a blender and add it to the babies milk. I'm a vegetarian and I don't even eat meat so I was shocked. When my husband disagreed she got very defensive. Then with my older son, I talked to the same doctor quietly in the hall and said I was concerned my son might have a speech delay issue but I didn't want to discuss it in front of him and the first thing she said when she entered to my so... read more
The doctors here are very good. Have no complaints against them. But the office staffs and nurses are extremely rude. Their attitude towards us is very bad. They treat us as if we are getting some sort of free service. Many times they will simply make us wait near the counter while they keep talking on the phone. Making an appointment over the phone is another nightmare. You have to explain the full story to 1 person and then she will put you on hold for like 10-15min. After this a new person will pick up the phone and a... read more
I have to agree with others. My kids have been going to SW Pediatrics for over seven years and the administration staff has gotten progressively worse to now down right rude. I have decided to switch to a new Pediatrician.
