We ordered the blackened mahi-mahi/chicken combo. The mahi was a small serving and the chicken, two larger pieces. The chicken was dried up. We asked for sauce to try to soften it. It did no good. We were offered apologies and a free dessert. Small compensation for an inedible main course. At no time was there an offer to take it off our bill. We have been to Stone Creek several times both in large group gatherings and small tables. Our last experience was not good. We had a party of four and were embarrassed due to it being our guest's first time to Stone Creek. The food was not prepared properly and not addressed properly upon sending it back. The manager simply said our crab cake looked raw due to occasionally not having enough crab (translated: there wasn't enough CRAB in the CRAB CAKE!) We went here on a Sunday evening with a group of 8. It took over 2 hours to eat in a nearly empty restaurant. No one was offered desert, other than the person celebrating a birthday. My potatoes were cold, my husband's filet medallions were over cooked and our waitress was incredibly slow. I do not know that I will be back.
The menu and food were awesome. First time experience. Service not so great. Had reservations and server was prompt to get our first drinks and take our order, but he never came back. Dinner was served and none of us had drinks, including water. Stopped a manager walking by and she took care of us after that. Server never came back until it was check time. I like Stone Creek, and have eaten there many times. The service and food are always very good and the atmosphere is pleasant. On this occasion we were entertaining a visiting guest from overseas and it seemed as if the experience would be the same. And it was, until we received the dinner bill and paid out (we had not asked for the bill ourselves yet). Stone Creek keeps changing the menu so I can't find our favorites. Took off broccoli salad at lunch and pork medallions at dinner. Waitress was too pushy trying to rush us out. When you see two women (or more) you need to realize we are there to talk along with eating dinner or lunch. You will be tipped well for taking up the table the extra time.
