I have an all electric car Nissan leaf, and when my regular 12 volt battery died I put a new one in myself like I always have on every car I've ever owned. I was stranded on the side of a road and walked over to the nearest AutoZone but after I installed the new $160 battery my car still wouldn't drive. The Nissan dealership said all new cars are designed that way so the peasants have to pay the dealership to do simple repairs like change the car battery. I made an appointment and was told my car would be done in 2 hours. The appointment was to look into a small leak coming from my transmission. It was not done for 6 hours. In the 6 hours they were not able to fix it and charged me $215 for a diagnostic. They told me my transmission needed a new gasket and pan. I was told the $215 would go towards my overall total of $800. When I called to make another appointment I was told the $215 would not go towards the $800 total. My engine cover was disappeared after services. The owner is the one to be responsible. I have to get a replacement from the dealership with my own money. It was not a small bolt or screw, IT IS A LARGE PIECE OF PLASTIC COVER!!!! I was Stressful !

It's not stress-free, it's complete stress and chaos. I would not recommend going to this place. I was supposed to just get a recharge on my A.C $450, then plus tax. They told me I need a new compressor okay! They told me I can get a new compressor at Autozone, so we did. They gave us the wrong one. Their mechanics did not know... Put it in my car, charge me to put it in my car, charged me to take it out of my car. Then they charged me their price of a compressor and to put it back in my car. I took my car originally to this place concerning about a noise and asking if he could look into it and the valve for my Honda Odyssey. I'm not really a mechanic, but sometimes when things like this happen, you kinda rely on them, but they failed to notice my concern, multiple time until the car actually make noise and started smoking after being at their shop for like three weeks. Absolutely disappointed and devastated with Stress Free Auto Repair. I previously had a great experience, but this time was a nightmare. On 8/4, I had my car towed from Fairfield to their shop after a snapped belt, explained the issue clearly, and was pressured to get an in-depth diagnostic inspection for 185. I asked for an oil change too. Total was 317 (they covered 15 Lyft back home, I was charged the remaining half). I spoke to Stress Free auto yesterday and they told me there would be no charge to examine my brakes and when he discovered I wasn't going to use this service I was charged 64 dollars for a brake inspection. A BLATANT LIE! I want a refund or I will be telling everyone in my group about how you deceive your potential customers.

I've had mixed experiences with this shop, and unfortunately, my recent visit confirmed some ongoing issues. The sales approach here tends to lean more toward upselling than actual car care. They often recommend services you may not need, banking on customers not knowing the difference. Scheduled an oil change and requested an inspection of the front suspension and steering components due to abnormal sounds similar to binding or worn components while turning. I mentioned the parking brake pedal needed adjustment but was told that would require disassembly of the rear brakes. The oil change was completed, but no findings from the test drive and inspection.
