Stress-free strives to give a good experience--but they disappointed me this time. First, the good: Very courteous and service-oriented. When I arrived, the staff told me when my car would be ready, and it was ready when they said it would be. Good communication--he updated me during the process so I knew when the work started and that the car was almost ready. The waiting room has a few seats, a bathroom, hot water and tea bags, a coffee machine thing, and a selection of attractive snacks and the space was clean and plea... read more

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and balanced review. We really appreciate your kind words about the courteous service, timely updates, and the clean, comfortable waiting area. It’s great to know that part of your experience lived up to what we strive for. That said, we truly hear your frustration, and we’re sorry for the parts that fell short. The appointment mix-up and the unexpected wait time—especially after showing up right at 9:00—shouldn’t have happened. When a time is promised, it’s r... read more
I needed new front brakes for my Porsche Macan. Over the phone they told me they would have the parts for my car. When I arrived for my appointment they didn't have the parts and said they had to "measure" the rotors and then it will take days for the parts to come in. Why didn't they tell me that in advance? Why didn't they just ask over the phone or text? Why can't they just look it up with the year, make, model, and VIN. Even worse the guys behind the desk told me it was my fault for not texting them the VIN. They never a... read more

We sincerely apologize for the confusion about parts availability and communication. This experience falls short of our standards. Please contact us at (408) 769-4111 to resolve this matter.
I've been a customer here for years, but this latest experience was unacceptable. During a recent oil change, the technician overfilled my vehicle with oil, which led to a leak. I had to bring my car to the Mountain View location, where the staff confirmed that the Sunnyvale technician had added an extra quart of oil. Thankfully, they were able to fix the issue. This experience was frustrating and deeply disappointing. I understand that for some, this might just be a job; but when you're working on someone's vehicle, that ... read more

I left my car at this shop on Friday and was told they would work on it Saturday. But nothing was done all day Saturday. On Sunday, I asked for a status update. They said it might get done Monday and mentioned that the same technician who repaired my car earlier would be available on Tuesday. They then suggested I take my car back now and drop it off again on Tuesday when that technician is available. This kind of back-and-forth and delay was frustrating and felt like a waste of my time. I expected more reliable service a... read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent STRESSFUL experience. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone looking for fair pricing or transparency. I brought my car in for a possible coolant leak, hoping it might be related to the thermostat or hose that this same shop had previously replaced and might be covered under warranty. They said they'd check and let me know. After a $560 diagnostic fee -- yes, $560 just for a diagnosis -- they told me it wasn't covered. What's frustrating is that during our p... read more

Hi Avdhesh, I’m sorry your visit left you feeling misled. Regional Management has personally reviewed the entire case—every phone call, estimate, and authorization—and want to share what we found and how we can make this right. • Diagnostic vs. repair cost A pressure-test and leak-trace on your vehicle requires specialized tools and more than an hour of labor, which is why the diagnostic fee is separate from any repair that follows. Although the inspection uncovered a larger issue than we hoped, it also mapped out the repai... read more
My experience at Stress Free Auto Care was absolutely terrible and far from 'stress-free.' The front desk staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional, hanging up on me while I was trying to discuss their outrageous charges and recommended work. Not only was the service expensive, but I also felt completely ripped off on the cost of the parts. When I questioned why the price they quoted was significantly higher than what the car manufacturer charges for the same part, they couldn't provide a reasonable explanation. It felt ... read more
Get a second opinion. After I paid over $200 for a diagnostic, Stress-Free quoted me over $1000 for a repair when my car would not run and would need to be towed. Fortunately, friends and family told me that this was predatory. The repair should be under $200 and Stress-Free was tacking on the word "Free" at the cost of $800 extra here. So I got my insurance to tow my car to another repair shop in Los Gatos, which figured out the real issue (which was not really discussed in the diagnostic) and the other repair shop charge... read more
I brought my car in for a new tire and an oil change. This service was fine. Unfortunately, my car had multiple new issues after receiving it back from Stress-Free Auto Care that had never appeared before and would have shown up on the basic inspection. I would not trust them with my vehicle again.
Business response:

We strive to provide thorough assessments and recommendations.
