My car is stalling and I asked them to fix it. Instead, they charged me $300 for a job that did nothing. I thought my car was okay to drive only to get stuck in LA due to another stall. I was told it was the alternator causing the problem by multiple people. On the phone I was told that's not how that works and what they did should have fixed this issue. Well it didn't and I'm not about to go back for them to just charge me more to do nothing again. I'll take my business somewhere else.

Business response:

Hi MacKenzie, Sorry you had this experience, MacKenzie. We understand how frustrating and stressful it is to pay for a repair and then have the car stall again, especially when it left you stranded. When your vehicle was with us, we were not able to duplicate the stalling during testing, but we did find a damaged engine ground wire that could cause stalling and other electrical issues. That repair was made as the first step based on what we found at the time. That said, we can understand why you’d be upset if the problem ... read more

This place used to do a good job. Now they seem to follow the pattern of fix something and break something. After our last visit to have a rear light replaced the left rear blinker no longer works and the front left blinker does a fast blink. They said my battery was old and not working properly. I replaced the battery and the lights still have the problem. They don't take responsibility for their actions and blame the owner. It's a shame. This place used to be very honest. Now every time I point out that something isn't wor... read more

Long story short: After taking off our door panel to diagnose why the window wouldn't close, and taking 7 hours to do only that, "Stress Free" told us they couldn't raise the window ("because it was broken") so we could take some time to figure out how we wanted to proceed, given the high quote. When we got the car home, we took the door panel off and raised the window ourselves. It was not difficult, and I'm no mechanic. In other words, they lied because they wanted us to authorize the overpriced repairs on the spot.

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the experience you had with our service. It's clear that we failed to meet your expectations, and for that, we are truly sorry. The situation you described regarding the window diagnosis and repair is unacceptable. We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to detail the issues you encountered, from the excessive time spent on diagnosis to the misrepresentation of the window's condition. Please know that we are taking your comments very ... read more

Charged me for 2 diagnostics; did not offer this cost go towards repair of the car. Waiting for 2 parts to arrive. I called for status 1 week later and I was told "only one part came in, don't call us, we will call you." That was 3 weeks ago. The previous company was more caring and family oriented (good guys). This place? It should not be called Stress-Free; how about Don't Care Auto.

3rd time I have had to bring my vehicle back for the same repairs and it is still not fixed, they claim they have a new management team but the issue is the higher ups and the way they want the business ran. 10 text messages an hour, 5,000$ bills before you walk in the door, list of things to fix and change on a virtually brand new car that are unrelated to what I came in for and they try and sell me on extra services before telling me what's wrong with my car which is why I initially came in!!! 0 stars if possible. Will of... read more

I brought my vehicles to neighborhood car care for years and had consistently positive experiences. Now under new ownership, this shop was not 'stress free' for me. The job ended up costing considerably more than the original quote, and when I picked up the vehicle--after spending several thousand dollars--there were still issues that needed to be addressed. The guys working at the shop did apologize, so two stars instead of one star, but I won't be using this shop again.

My initial review was for Neighborhood Auto and Stress-Free bought this business and changed just about everything. I had a value cover gasket installed on my Mercedes by Neighborhood Auto and it had a one year or 12,000 mile warranty. Since I only drive the car on the weekends and locally only, I never noticed that the problem was never fixed as the engine cover made it impossible to see and since I only drove the car 800 miles in the last 1.5 years I never noticed it was still leaking from the Value cover. I took the car ... read more

Business response:

DO NOT let these 5 star reviews fool you !!! I brought my car to Stress-Free Auto Care because it wouldn't start. At first, the shop appeared well-organized and professional, with security cameras that made me feel like my car was in good hands. However, my experience quickly took a turn. They told me my clutch was burnt out and quoted me $3,500 for the repair. Something felt off about their diagnosis, so I did some research on my own. I ended up fixing the issue myself with a simple $100 part--proving that their claim was c... read more

Took my car in for electrical issues and my relays burning out, was told it was aftermarket components causing issue even though they have been fine for over 5 years. Unplugged all my stuff and told me to go drive it only to have the same issue right when I got home. When I told them I was having the same issue I was told they didn't know what to do to fix it. Overpriced, and incompetent, not to mention the manager brags about cheating on his wife with her best friend to his employees real grimy place and the weed dispensary... read more
