First off...let me just say that I am Joel's #1 fan! I am a single-mom who just recently purchased a 2000 VW Jetta from a private party that took every measure to try to cover up numerous mechanical problems. I went to another mechanic and spent over $1100 in repairs, but my car continued to break down. I contacted Joel who was more then happy to take my lemon for a test-drive and give me an estimate. Brought in my 2007 Civic for brakes and oil change, the price was reasonable and the service was awesome... Joel was really nice and explained everything. When I was sitting in the lobby I was talking to another customer who had nothing but good things to say about Joel's so I knew I was at the right place :)

Hard to find a honest and talented auto repair shop these days... Joel's automotive is the best experience so far... I'm sold on this place... will go there as long as I live in the LA area
I was nervous about going to the BMW dealer for my BMW 540 repair, which a bad gasket that needed to be replaced . My fears were confirmed when I went to the BMW dealer and got an estimate. I heard that Joel's in Upland is equipped with all the factory equipment needed for BMW repairs, so I brought my car there to see what he could do. I've had so many problems with my car and been to several auto shops- this makes me an expert customer. With that said, Joels Automotive was by far the best service I have ever encountered. The staff is excellent and so nice. They were very helpful and the level of communication was great which was extremely refreshing. I will definitely be taking my VW to Joels for any auto care I need and would recommend Joels Automotive to anyone.
Great service. Had my AC fixed at another shop 2 months ago and it stopped working. Took it to Joel's. They looked at it right away, found a workmanship problem from the previous shop and fixed it in 15 min. Wow! I have to hold back a 5 start rating until I've used them several times, but I'll definitely be coming back.
I want to update, and confirm, the same day I posted this review, my money was returned to the method that I paid . To be fair. I did inform them , that I would share my experience of this situation. I rarely write negative reviews, but after giving Stress-Free Auto Care in Montclair multiple opportunities to resolve this situation, I believe other customers--especially those with specialized or luxury vehicles--should know about my experience. I have been to this location before and there was a guy there who answered all my questions and knew exactly what was wrong with my car This time I took my car was trying to figure out what was the problem with my car the guy who was there this time was very unaware of what's was going on even though I told him the battery was new he insisted that it was the battery that I take it back to get a new one then When I told him the battery was brand new he said it would be another 200$ to further look into the problem.
