It's not a hotel it's a time share This is our fourth trip to Cancun each time to a different hotel. This place is selling time shares. They may call it a hotel but their goal is to sell time shares. Compared to other places I have stayed at it was below average. For instance, only one pool and that one is smaller than pools at other resorts in Cancun and only waist deep. Mediocrity at it's finest First of all, the sister lagoon hotel is NOT walking distance, and the branch shuttle is always in maintenance and will be ready tomorrow. With that said, the manager was very rude to my friend who wanted to move from the sister branch called lagoon, suggesting we call our booking agent from the front desk at $5USD per minute and then not even allowing him to go up to our room to change into his bathing suit. Terrible in every possible way Terrible Service. Terrible food. Rude staff. Staff were rude unless you tipped them on a constant basis. Rooms lacked light bulbs. Ceiling fans not working. Hair drier missing. Had to wait forever when requested towels, and other stuff.

For Budget Minded Only......No Other Reason There are so many choices, this should only be considered if money is the most important aspect of your trip. Room is dingy smelling and in need of remodel. Food is always the same - bland with very few choices. We visited several other remarkable hotels that put ours to shame. Spend more money for a better place Less than thrilled with this place. Floor in room was DIRTY. Mold around toilet. Holes in walls around shower. No light in bathroom. Public areas of hotel very clean though and service from waiters was great. Can't have drinks in pool but there were numerous babies/toddlers in pool with nothing but bathing suits on - no diaper or swim diaper.....uck. Scum in pool. Same food on buffets night after night. 1/4 of a star hotel Our first room was not clean, second room had broken A/C unit, Third room was just in need of an update. Our kids room also had A/C problems. The food was at times uneatable. Not close to a one star hotel, let alone a four star.

Royal Sunset--Cancun--STAY AWAY! I NEVER write reviews (I think it's a waste of time)--but I feel compelled to do so this time. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There was mold growing all over the inside of the bathroom light fixture, the floor was dirty, the bedding had stains on it, the mini-bar wasn't stocked, there was no remote for the TV...I could go on and on. And this is even after we SWITCHED rooms because we were so disgusted with our FIRST room!!! I would NEVER go back to the Royal Sunset. The best ... read more

Worest Place I had been in my life It was the worest experience in my life.I Checked out after only one night.I spent the rest of my vacation in adifferent ( next door Resort ) was wounderful. I and my family regret about every second we spent in what is called Sunset Royal.
