Every time I come to Reno I always make it a point to stop here. I love sushi and this place, in my experiences, has always performed. From the deluxe nigiri to the rolls that are stuffed, I always come back. They do get packed at times and since the seating is limited, big groups may wait. Knowing that, I go solo or go with my wife and get good service...and go big! At my last visit, Chef Michael took great care of me, along with Jonnie and the new guy Aldo. I love this place! I have eaten here many times. It is my favorite sushi restaurant in Reno/Carson/Tahoe region. Koon and Winston create fresh generous portions while Glenda, Itsy, Nancy and Johny make the dining experience fun. Their service and commitment to the customer along with reasonable prices makes this an exceptional dining experience. Being located between both silver legecy and el dorrado makes for easy access for fun before or after dining. Can't wait to go back.

Great sushi! One of my favorite restaurants in Reno. I've eaten here several times as I am picky about my sushi and wanted to make sure it was good every time. I like to sit up at the bar and talk to the chef there, Koon I believe his name is. Salmon sashimi Is a good test to see how fresh the food is for me, it's always fresh. I often have the the chef create something for me, always insanely good. For good sushi in Reno head to the El Dorado, it's as good as you'll find in Reno.

This was not the best place for service. We sat down and it took an hour before everyone got their food. In fact the sushi rolls came out last before the hot cooked food. Our drinks was served in piece meal - one person at a time. We got our food but no place setting - were we suppose to eat with our hands? My order was wrong when is it was served so they had to do it all over again. Then when the bill came, our fiend had enough to comp the entire meal but the server didn't say anything until we asked. The rolls were really good and different then the normal in town. The seating was a bit cramped and the noise level a bit excessive but that's to be expected on a Saturday night in downtown. They were still quick to get us in and with the rolls so yea it's worth it.

It was Saturday evening and we had a party of three. We walked up to get seated and was told by one of the staff there's a wait and someone was ahead of us. The odd part was we were first in line and no one was ahead of us. I stated that I didn't mind waiting. That's when Itsy came and told us "there's just some miss communication and we should be seated next". Itsy was very well informed, attentive and professional. My wife and I have become sushi connoisseurs over the years of all you can eat sushi in the reno area. Hiroba and Tha Joint are two of our favorites but Sushi Sake at Roxy Bistro is by far our number 1. This is the only place in Reno that stands alone in my opinion. The fish is the freshest and you can tell it isn't the typical pre frozen fair like other spots in the area. If you haven't tried Sushi Sake yet, put it on your list!

Food was great, but the service is terrible. I was here for the buffet and never got everything I ordered. It took about 30 mins just to get my seaweed, edamame, and miso soup. And my dessert never came out.
