I usually have my cats taken care of by a friend when I go on trips but I decided to board my cat this time because he had an eye infection, so he needed medicine administered 4 times a day. While they did administer the medicine, my cat came back with frayed and bloody nails, presumably from scratching and clawing at the cage due to stress. I was not shown what the boarding conditions were like but due to the state he was in when given back I can only assume they were less than optimal and that he was left alone except for ... read more

This vet practice is simply awful from the doctors (especially Schoenhut) to the front desk. Weeks ago Dr. Schoenhut said my dog's records were sent out to me. Today, the front desk said it was being done today. This has been going on for months. They are simply inept, incompetent and I'd never trust them with my dog or my worst enemy's dog. I've written other reviews detailing the poor quality of care but don't feel like repeating myself. Save yourself and your pet a lot of aggravation and stay away! There are plent... read more

If I could get zero stars I would. I have been bringing my dog Blaze to this office for the past 2 years. I brought him in last week for a USDA certificate and exam for travel to Europe. After the exam and reviewing the paperwork with Sarah, I went to the desk to check out. To my surprise the EU certificate fee was increased to $200. I told the guy at the reception I had to check into this because I knew it had always been $100. While I was looking at past invoices in the office I heard Sarah call the front desk to see if... read more

Would give zero stars if possible. We walked in after our dog was bitten in Central Park by another dog. Julio at the front desk did not even look up from his tablet and told us right away they had no available appointments and there was no chance for a vet to see us. All this without even taking a look at the massive, bleeding bite wound and without so much as double checking with the vet. He seemed to be more concerned with the tv show on his iPad than showing any kind of empathy. It's hard to believe this guy works i... read more

Business response:

Markus Thank you for the honest review, and we sincerely apologize that you experienced this with our hospital. We strive to provide the best in pet wellness, and this is not typical of our hospital's culture or values. Please know our managing staff takes this incident very seriously, and your dog should have been seen immediately. We are using this incident as a learning tool to retrain our front staff to ensure it never happens again. We are very happy to hear your pup was cared for and is on the way to a full recovery!

I have used this vet for years and while I find their services adequate their service is non existent. I called beforehand to set up my rabies shot. While on the phone I asked how much everything would cost and I was quoted 43 dollars. My husband took our pup in and tacked on an extra 92 dollars for a consult despite the fact we had been consulted less than three months before. When I questioned this practice I was given the run around and never contacted by anyone with the authority to address the issue. I spoke to a re... read more

If I could give NO STARS, I would have. But, Yelp requires at least 1. Waited 1 hour for a vet appointment for my sick rescue dog; even asked what was going on at the 20-25 min wait time, 35 min wait time, etc. Then, went for a walk and asked them to call or text me back. They did so, I rushed back (was just on the street) and then waited another 20 min. Asked at desk and interrupted their discussion on food prep. They went back to get the doctor and I never saw them again. Left after an hour. No one called to apolog... read more

I was running (literally!) late for my 6:20 pm appt on Thursday. I called to let them know I'd be there in about 10 minutes (which meant 6:32 pm) and they said fine. I couldn't find a cab, so I ran 6 blocks uphill in the humid, hot weather with a 10 pound dog in my bag (I'm a petite woman) sweating bullets after having left work early to get to this appt. With 2 more blocks to go, the vet's office calls me on my cellphone at 6:30 pm and said that Dr. Schoenhut will not see my dog because I was the last appt at 6:20 pm and... read more

This place used to be amazing for years. In the last year and a half or so staff and management changed and service is going down hill. They overcharge too. There are better options out there.

Very disappointed. I took my chihuahua here for a couple of visits as she was bleeding from her vulva despite having been spayed, and I have finally decided to switch to a different vet. Here are the things that went wrong, chronologically - 1. they tried to collect a urine sample (to test for UTI) by way of cystocentesis, which means sticking a needle through the stomach into the bladder, but didn't succeed because they claimed that my dog didn't have enough pee in her bladder; afterwards, i took my dog out for a walk in ... read more

We are so sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your experience at Symphony Vet Center. Due to confidentiality, we cannot comment on your pet's specific medical care. Medicine is not always as straightforward as we would like it to be, and sometimes multiple diagnostic tests are needed to obtain an accurate diagnosis. Multiple doctors have had extensive conversations with you about your pet's care, but we do apologize if there were any miscommunications. We are very sorry that our lab misplaced your pet's urine sa... read more
