Would give zero stars if possible. We walked in after our dog was bitten in Central Park by another dog. Julio at the front desk did not even look up from his tablet and told us right away they had no available appointments and there was no chance for a vet to see us. All this without even taking a look at the massive, bleeding bite wound and without so much as double checking with the vet. He seemed to be more concerned with the tv show on his iPad than showing any kind of empathy. It's hard to believe this guy works i... read more
I have used this vet for years and while I find their services adequate their service is non existent. I called beforehand to set up my rabies shot. While on the phone I asked how much everything would cost and I was quoted 43 dollars. My husband took our pup in and tacked on an extra 92 dollars for a consult despite the fact we had been consulted less than three months before. When I questioned this practice I was given the run around and never contacted by anyone with the authority to address the issue. I spoke to a re... read more
If I could give NO STARS, I would have. But, Yelp requires at least 1. Waited 1 hour for a vet appointment for my sick rescue dog; even asked what was going on at the 20-25 min wait time, 35 min wait time, etc. Then, went for a walk and asked them to call or text me back. They did so, I rushed back (was just on the street) and then waited another 20 min. Asked at desk and interrupted their discussion on food prep. They went back to get the doctor and I never saw them again. Left after an hour. No one called to apolog... read more
I was running (literally!) late for my 6:20 pm appt on Thursday. I called to let them know I'd be there in about 10 minutes (which meant 6:32 pm) and they said fine. I couldn't find a cab, so I ran 6 blocks uphill in the humid, hot weather with a 10 pound dog in my bag (I'm a petite woman) sweating bullets after having left work early to get to this appt. With 2 more blocks to go, the vet's office calls me on my cellphone at 6:30 pm and said that Dr. Schoenhut will not see my dog because I was the last appt at 6:20 pm and... read more
This place used to be amazing for years. In the last year and a half or so staff and management changed and service is going down hill. They overcharge too. There are better options out there.
Very disappointed. I took my chihuahua here for a couple of visits as she was bleeding from her vulva despite having been spayed, and I have finally decided to switch to a different vet. Here are the things that went wrong, chronologically - 1. they tried to collect a urine sample (to test for UTI) by way of cystocentesis, which means sticking a needle through the stomach into the bladder, but didn't succeed because they claimed that my dog didn't have enough pee in her bladder; afterwards, i took my dog out for a walk in ... read more
Like many of the other reviews are saying, they overcharge big time. Go to any other nearby vet and you will see your bill shrink, and you will get just as good if not better care. One in particular that is great is Heart of Harlem Veterinary Clinic. Secondly the best vet that they had, Dr. Ma, Who was extremely attentive and caring, has left. Thirdly, I had an appointment and because of issues with my cat and her carrying case and Parking, I was exactly 14 minutes late (they were literally on the phone trying to call me whe... read more
When I visited, they placed me with a non in house veterinarian and she was nice. I had to schedule a follow up visit to run some blood test for my dog. I was told by the front desk staff that it would only cost around $40 cause I wasn't seeing a vet but was just getting blood work done. Also, one of the girls at the front desk is pretty ditzy, constantly gives incorrect information and halfway through my transaction she starts talking with another vet about helping her with a project. I had to reel her back in and remind he... read more
DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO SYMPHONY VET. My dog was misdiagnosed, given a contraindicated combination of medications where he ended up in the ER. He survived - but in addition - Dr Campbell who misdiagnosed and prescribed the contraindicated medications, refused to meet with me in person to discuss the situation. I took my dog to Animal Medical Center where they found a tumor. He was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to remove the tumor.
