This was an easy job and everything went fine with no problems. This is one of those things you might think you could do yourself and save a lot of money, and maybe you can. I have an older house, however, and the trap connections were all metal and had corroded. Also, without the proper tools, the job called for a professional. They are really nice and got good bedside manner as you would say. They did really good but it was a bit slow.

After finding two inches of water in the lower level, I suspected it was coming from my 15 year old water heater. I called a water extractor company and Team Bob's. They came right out and i agreed to a new water heater, although we are still not absolutely certain of the source of the water. The worker who came out also gave me a very good suggestion for a restoration company, which I found works with my house insurance company. They were right on the estimate and didn't vary by one dollar. We had several credits from the gas company, the state of Michigan and Lennox, the manufacturer of the furnace. They all had rebates and all we had to do was sign them and Bob took care of everything else. They were prompt and they were in and out within a day. They found a defect in the previous installation which they corrected. We would absolutely use them again. The price was reasonable.

I could not light the pilot light after the water heater had been shut down from Jan 19, 2012 to Apr 11, 2012. Called Team Bob's and was told it would be after hours work (4:30pm)! I didn't care, I just wanted the pilot light lit. Bankers hours I guess. Anyway, tech arrived and lit the pilot light. Total time - about 15 minutes. Service call $95.00 - seems steep! Additional $45 to light the pilot light. The job was completed to my satisfaction but $140.00 to light a pilot is ridiculous.
