Our mistake arriving 15 minutes early before our reservation time. But 45 minutes after reservation time and they still did not have a table for us we gave up and ate at the bar. Had to cancel after dinner plans. When you do not honor a reservation then that's a contract broken. Seems reasonable that if you can't seat your guests then don't offer a reservation. I met a business colleague for lunch yesterday and was very disappointed in the food that I received. The lentil soup was salty and I asked the waiter for a glass of water so I could dilute it. He brought the water but didn't offer to exchange the soup or credit our bill. I also ordered the caprese salad, which was surprisingly skimpy - barely two pieces of mozzarella cheese with chunks of two very tough tomatoes. I didn't finish the tomatoes. And there was no basil. I have been to Terra Terroir many times and have had a great experience but this time was different. I made reservations and requested to sit on the patio. When we arrived the hostess informed us that the patio was on a first come first serve basis. I was not aware of this policy and I have never been told that on the past. Anyway, the hostess said there were some people leaving and she would have the table cleared and set us next. We said that we would wait in the bar. This is the third time I have tried Terra Terroir and the third time I have been disappointed. But with so many good reviews maybe we just tried it on three off nights.
Paid our bill with grace ! Warning! Do not get the tomato and avocada soap because its cold and just terrible " salsa and guacamole " equivalent ! And the scallop might have been some sort of imitation meat! Otherwise, a one time experience. Now as for our service, Most of the night ignored! Forgot our dishes ! A very disappointing birthday..everything was fine until the two steaks arrived! They were uneatable..spent over $100 for great brussel sprouts and onion soup..don't think we will try again since this was the second disappointment..Advice: forget the steak offer..Jazz on the patio was great!
I hardly ever write restaurant reviews. The only reason I am writing a review today is that I hope the owner of the restaurant and the chef will read this. I have eaten here several times now, and I really want to like this restaurant. It is in our neighborhood and very convenient and has a good wine list. We went for the lobster roll, and it was all bread stuffed with lettuce and sprinkled with bacon. VERY VERY little lobster spread onto the bun. Waste of money. Other food entrees looked good though, but if you want to pay $15 for a bun filled with lettuce, then order the lobster roll.
Took my boyfriend for his birthday. Waitress recommended mussels and Brussels but mussels were fishy indicating freshness issues. Reported to the waitress to have her reply "yes, they are seafood" and "people like them" rather than involving a manager or offering something else. Food quality is very important aside from hoping for a nice experience. I will make it up to him by taking him out again somewhere else but will not return again.
