Get directionsMy first contact with the home was with the general manager, who managed to find accommodation - at very short notice - for my mother who is 93 and recovering from heart surgery. She was kind, helpful and professional, and it was a huge relief to have my mother settled in such a nice environment. The other staff that I have encountered have been friendly and welcoming. My mother is happily settled after a very traumatic 3 weeks, appreciates the beautiful gardens, the peaceful and settled atmosphere, and the kindness and care... read more

Thank you very much for your feedback and I am glad your mother has settled and is on the mend, it's been lovely to have her with us. Please do contact me if you have any questions/further feedback.
Elizabeth Finn/The Cotswold Home have been fantastic - my 83-year-old father was critically ill and fought through in an NHS hospital. We reached a position where he was medically well enough but needed intense care and rehabilitation. EF were able to take him rapidly and start his ongoing recovery and strength-building. He has made huge progress with physio, great care and very pleasant kind staff - and both my parents enjoy lunch together each day. Settled in fast and certainly both my parents are enjoying the rest - the f... read more

It has been a pleasure to be able to get to know your dad and help with his recovery. We look forward to seeing him in the future.
As the first time of staying in a care home for four days, I found the staff were excellent. The premises were always clean with food very well provided.
Business response:
Thank you for your lovely comments. We look forward to hopefully seeing you again in the future.
Excellent, friendly home. Helpful person at reception and unit manager of staff and all the many helpers were very friendly. Visitors were welcome, including dogs, and dogs were allowed to stay with residents. Everyone was called by their first name. A hairdresser came once a week. Entertainment was excellent, with different activities, such as quizzes or cooking. Very good meals were served and we could choose what we wanted to eat from a menu the day before. Many different options. We could sit with others in the dining ro... read more

Thank you for kindly taking the time to leave us a review. I am pleased to hear of your good experience and we hope to welcome you again at The Cotswold home.
I really like The Cotswold Home - there is plenty of space to walk around and it is very nicely decorated and very comfortable. The other residents are very friendly and I enjoy mixing with people and joining in the activities and games. The staff are very helpful and caring. The food is very good apart from when they have mushrooms and shellfish!
Business response:
Thank you for your review and we are glad you like your home! We also enjoy you being here as a resident, brightening all our days and joining the activities.
Mum lived at The Cotswold Home for the last four years of her long life. She was always well looked-after by kind and attentive staff, particularly in her final days. When she chose to remain in her room as her mobility became limited, there were always callers to make sure she had everything she needed. The Cotswold Home is an attractive building in a lovely country setting with sheltered gardens, a good quality dining room, bar area, library and various lounges. The staff arrange a wide-ranging programme of activities and ... read more

Thank you for your review, it was an absolute pleasure to have your mum living with us at The Cotswold Home. She is missed muchly.
It was lovely to see Dad interact with people again after being alone after the loss of my mum. He enjoyed the harpist, and just to see him sitting with other people, his foot tapping, obviously enjoying the experience was wonderful. He told me all about the fireworks evening, which had lifted his spirits and given him something to chat about. Although he was only there for a week's respite, we have booked him in again for another short break.
Business response:
Thank you for your review - respite can be such a great experience when done correctly. Glad Dad got involved. See you both again soon.
When my wife and I go away on holiday, my father moves from our house into Elizabeth Finn at Burford. He is always welcomed and made to feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and the food is always of a very high standard with a good choice of menu. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and all my father's needs are met with kindness and a smile from the staff. We always go away knowing we have left him in good hands.
Business response:
Thank you very much for your kind words. We all look forward to your father joining us when he does come for his visits. I am glad you are reassured, that is exactly what we are here for.
During the six years my mother lived at The Cotswold Home, she was treated with dignity, respect, and a level of personal attention and nursing for which I will always be grateful. The continuity of key staff, the calm and cheerful atmosphere, the dining facilities, and the welcome given to guests and relatives of residents were all notable. Initially reluctant to leave her own house, my mother was quickly won over by the friendliness of the staff, great physiotherapy, lunch everyday with other interesting residents, and the... read more
