Awesome class great experience!
Took a roux class with Chef Byron—learned a lot, surprised myself at how delicious our gumbo, étouffée, and bananas foster turned out—and I even already tried replicating one of the dishes at home! Overall, the class was a lot of fun, and would be an amazing small group activity to do with friends! The Southern Food Museum was really interesting, and Chef Byron is very willing and available to help you learn. He has a whole lot of talent, a great personality—you will enjoy your class!
Awesome instructions with Cam. Very informative and personal. Definitely taking these tips home and using them!
What a fantastic way to start our vacation! Chef Aaron was our instructor due to Chef Bond recovering from an illness. Casual atmosphere, easy conversation, great cooking tips, delicious food...everything we had hoped for and so much more! I need to thank Chef Aaron and JFK (his assistant) for making us feel so welcome and at ease and giving us the best possible experience we could have hoped for!
Chef Bond and Aaron were wonderful. What a great location (Algiers Point), fantastic historic home, amazing kitchen, and what great personal touches in the class! They really focus on having fun but building your own cooking confidence; they really make these dishes accessible for you. We can't wait to cook the dishes we learned for our guests at home. This is a MUST DO for foodies in and visiting Nola!
We had the best experience with Chef Bond and Stacey! The meal we prepared was delicious. We started with chicken and andoulli gumbo, then crawfish etouffee, and finished off with a fantastic chocolate bread pudding. We learned some new tricks, the history of Cajun versus creole style cooking, and made new friends in the process. The wine was flowing and the neighbors stopped by to hang out, eat and drink with us, and we all got along so well we decided to hit up The Olde Point bar around the corner right after class.
