Located in Northern California’s Mendocino County there is a skunk running through the redwood forest, but this isn’t any skunk, it’s the world famous Skunk Train. The California redwoods, pristine coastline, and award winning vineyards are all a part of the landscape of what makes Mendocino County such an amazing place and home to this 131-year-old train.

Beautiful ride through the redwoods from Ft. Bragg with a top notch crew. Don’t forget to check out the model railroad in the building across the tracks.
“All aboard” the conductor bellowed to start this adventure. Unfortunately we had some mechanical issues and barely made it out of Willits before having to return. We had wanted to take our toddler on an adventure and start a new family tradition so we were sad when we didn’t get the full trip but wow did the staff leave an impression. My toddler now plays with her train set daily and I can hear her screaming “All Aboard” from the other room. That one phrase has stuck with her and for that we are grateful. A fun train ride threw the beautiful redwoods !
My wife and I took the rail bikes. What a blast!!! Staff was friendly and helpful.
Took a ride on the Skunk Train last Friday. staff was very friendly & helpful. We were able to take Paws (the dog) &,he loved it too. Enjoyed learning the history and seeing the beautiful forest. Also enjoyed the model railroad museum. Highly recommend taking the train! v
My girlfriend and I enjoyed the Rail Bikes. Our guide was Johnny and Ezira. Both of them were so attentive and kind to us. Safety was high on their list and also a great sense of humor. We just had the most enjoyable day on the Rail Bikes. And then for anyone reading this review/ make sure that you do the hike. Be sure to dress in layers and have some thing to keep your hands in your neck warm. The day was sunny but it was cool and I’m so pleased I had a hooded jacket…
What a romantic way to spend the day. The beautiful scenery along the way and the enchanting deck in the redwoods was delightful.
Ben there, done that and it was GREAT! Nuff said.
A fun family experience! Great staff and an exciting ride.
