What was supposed to be a super quick appointment had me there for almost 2 hours. Multiple members of the staff came in to push their pet insurance plans rather than answering my actual questions or taking care of my dogs. This place is NOT affordable either. My puppy was a little bit itchy (probably seasonal allergies) and the staff went through all these rare diseases they could test for, which I declined after they said to me "but dogs usually get allergies around this time of year." Thrive Manchaca is the worst. First, I scheduled an appt online. I got a text saying that I had to reschedule my appt because that time is when staff goes to lunch. Okay. Fine. Whatever. I reschedule for later in the day. When i arrive I inform them that my dog is vaccine reactive. The receptionist chastises me for scheduling the "wrong" kind of appt and says that she has to inform the vet because "they're about to close and your dog will have to be monitored". Incredibly rude. Worst experience ever. A wreck made us 5 mins late and they flat out refused to see my dog. I'll never recommend this vet. I wasted and entire afternoon off of work for nothing.

Wish there was less than one star! Took our dogs in to get a the yearly check up, heart worm and flea treatment. They screwed up the most basic task and gave our Yorkie way too much flea treatment and she had seizures and almost died. Now she can't ever take a flea treatment again, thanks for that guys. Oh, don't get suckered into the concierge vet service. Full on scam, your dog gets sick and you call first thing on a work day they won't get you in any time soon and they refer you to a emergency vet hospital. Called our o... read more

arrived at Noon, first waiting 15 minutes for a receptionist, then when one arrived I was informed the Dr Is not available to help me with a replacement med for my pup, lost a dose.. 2ML worth.. Since no one was there I had to come later. Arrived later in the day and come to find out that the whole 2ML of medication was $10.50? Is this colored GOLD? Always a new person who works there that knows nothing or said something different each time we're there. They carry none of the meds like heartworm or flea and tick stuff in store, and needs to be approved repeatedly before it even is allowed to be purchased on chewy.com We've had several Rx cancelled on us and when we call, they state we need to bring our dogs in to be seen even though they were there the previous month. Yes, it's cheap, but you get what you pay for.

My first experience with Thrive has been a dismal one. Not sure if there will be a second experience. A week ago, I went online and booked 2 appointments spaced 15 minutes apart because I have two dogs. One for 9:45 am, and one for 10 am. I was pretty impressed because the online booking was fairly simple and easy, and definitely convenient. DR SCHROEDER LET MY DOG GO WITHOUT HIS MEDS!!!! Had problems each time Walgreens requests a renewal. First time, my dog was out of his meds. Walgreens called Thrieve for a refill when I had 5 days supply left. I called Walgreens to find out if they received it and they said the Vet never answered request. I call Thrieve twice, finally get his pills. 2ND TIME same thing but I call on Friday morning and Thrieve didn't call it in to Walgreens, although Walgreens had requested it 5 days before. Want to book an appointment online? Don't bother. If you want to go through the hassle of going in for the appointment you scheduled online only to find out that the "scheduling system is screwed up"...then Thrive - Manchaca is the right vet for you! Be ready to wait as a walk-in or take a gamble and schedule another appointment!
