Moving to Austin, I needed a reasonably priced but still incredible serviced vet for my new cat. I have been taking Aspen to thrive for a couple years now and I couldn't be more pleased. I am so happy that they opened this location because it is so much closer to me and she does not like traveling. Some days can take longer to get in than others, but that doesn't change the detail they put into each visit. We always get her shots or examination when she needs and then we talk about any concerns and they let me know if there ... read more

My poor little furrbaby has sudden paralysis in her hind end. No use of her back legs so vet care was getting extremely expensive. On a whim i made an appointment at Thrive. Although their services don't cost as much as most vets the care is as professional or better. I was very happy with our appointment and will continue with Thrive.

Business response:

Thank you Gayla for your review. You hit the nail on the head with our service offering--much less costly than others, but no compromise in quality and service! We look forward to helping your little baby anytime. :)

I never write reviews on Yelp, but I felt compelled to share my review of this place after having such an excellent experience. Scheduling an appointment is super easy and their services are very affordable. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole process was quick. I definitely recommend bringing your pet here.

Business response:

We're so glad you took the time to write this review! We appreciate your feedback!

Quality, efficient care for my pups without taking a chomp out of my shopping budget.

Business response:

Thank you so much Mary! That is our aim, every time!

Easier on the pocketbook than the other two vets I have visited in Austin. The Dr. was very thorough, and offered lots of advice on my old lumpy/grumpy dog. I like being able to schedule on line, and multiple locations.

Business response:

Hi Stephanie, thanks so much for the review! So glad you enjoyed THRIVE!

We attempted to euthanize our poor dog who was suffering from several severe behavioral issues but were denied assistance from our vet of 4 years. As this decision didn't come lightly, we knew that if our dog wasn't out to rest, she would live a miserable life of being muzzled and medicated for the rest of her life. We had spoken to several behavioral therapists and spent thousands of dollars trying to rehabilitate our girl but after our last session, our therapist told her we would need to put her down or risk her attacking... read more

Business response:

Hi Joseph, I tried calling and left a voicemail to discuss this further. We know the decision to euthanize is not easy (whether for behavior or medical reasons), we also do not take the decision lightly. We always like to have an exam and discuss other options (especially when we haven't seen a patient previously for this concern or don't have documentation from the behaviorists) which is what we tried to do in this case. We did ask for you to call back with any questions or to discuss further, and it does not look like you ... read more

We brought our dog here for wellness visits and shots- usually about $300 each visit. Each visit she was seen about 20 minutes after her appointment time, and the visits are very rushed. Even after telling them I just need the prescription for heart worm medication, they still charged us for it. After getting many emails about being overdue for our dogs annual check up I called to make an appointment, where I was told, in a very rushed conversation, she didn't need it yet. I later had some concerns about a change in my... read more

We were in-between vets and needed to get our four-year old Husky's yearly vaccinations and testing done. This is a comprehensive set of services which includes, despite our pup being continuously on preventives, a standard heart worm test to rule to out a breakthrough infection. Because of problems in previous vet settings we've always opted to be present for procedures during our dog's service. This was respected and accepted with our original vet as well as places I was vetting to start a new vet relationship. When the te... read more

Thrive is the Spirit Airlines of the vet world. It starts out cheap, they upsell you until it's more expensive than the alternative, and they provide terrible service. Took 2of 3 of our dogs here. The first one they treated - after running up the bill for a regular checkup it cost me $503. The second they couldn't treat because she did not want to go to the back to get her shots without us. That's their company policy. Fine. We came back the next day after giving her the anxiety medicine we paid them for and she still di... read more
